Will PayPal forgive you if you pay them after being banned?
 

Long story short: in 2008 I got ripped off by someone and my Paypal account went $10,000 negative due to buyers charging back because I couldn't send the items I sold and the money was gone. They shut my account down along with everyone living in my household.
I legally changed my name 5 years later and opened a new account with a different address and phone number but no SSN. I think I eventually gave them my social but they didn't connect the dots to shut down my account.
Last year I made some large credit card payments from my wifes paypal account to my paypal account and that triggered them to find my old account. They closed both our accounts.
Now if I call them and tell them I'll pay the 10k (without admitting that I know who that guy with "a different name" is) just so I can have my paypal account back, will they actually forgive me and open my account back up or will they just take the money and tell me to f off?
I haven't asked them this question yet but I thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

This is precisely what would happen.

Going stealth or using business accounts with EIN's are you only options at this point.

You have a better chance of going to Mars, having everything go wrong and still make it back alive....wait, didn't that happen to Matt Damon. Anyways, no one...not even PayPal is going to give you any guarantee, not even PayPal!

Damn... problem is, I need to cash out some more of my credit cards and paypal was the easiest way especially for large (10k+)payments. I'll have to see how I can do that with a stealth/EIN account if the name on my cards will be different than those accounts.

In 2007 or so I paid from my bank $2,700 which was an absolute fortune for me at the time to cover two sets of aluminum truck wheels someone scammed me for. My account was suspended and the balance was negative. The customer service rep walked me through depositing almost $1,400 two different times (as I gathered it from my paychecks over the months) to zero out my balance so they could "review" my status for reinstatement, and once I did I was told I could never use their service again. I can't begin to described how crushed I was, being out both the $2,700 (twice) and loosing the only way I could ever imagine making it up again. They are absolutely ruthless.

At the end of the day this is a consumer debt. It doesn't matter to PayPal how that debt was incurred, only that it belonged to the person named on the account.

If you pay them, it doesn't change anything. They will gladly take your money but there is no absolution in their eyes. They are unlikely to reinstate that account since there were past issues (claims/chargebacks/disputes) which resulted in this mess.

You can most certainly have a stealth account, but just be warned you can never re-use any of your old info (name/address/phone). You can't use youre personal SSN as obviously doing do will link to any potential account(s) it was associated with.
