Must Verify US taxpayer status? How to avoid?

"Because you receive payment for goods or services through PayPal, you must verify your U.S. taxpayer status to avoid limitations to your account."

How long do I have till paypal limits my account?

Can I just add an EIN on my account instead?

You can upgrade to business with EIN and the soft limitation will be gone. That's what i did to my account.

With every account I upgrade to business via PayPal they hit me with a verification of business documents request. Frustrating.

Would the 180 days hold apply to the account if you do not provide the Tax Id?
