Can't add a bank account to my suspended PayPal after 180 days
 
Hey guys! My stealth PayPal account was suspended 6 months ago. Few weeks ago I received an email telling me that now I can withdraw funds. I can't transfer money to a bank account that is already connected to my PayPal, because it's VBA. When I tried to add a new bank account, PayPal asked me to receive a text with a code to confirm identity, but a phone number on account is not active anymore, so I couldn't do it. I called PayPal and they asked me to provide ID and card statement to verify my identity.

What are options now? Please share your thoughts. I did not expect such complications, just want to get my money back :(

Have you tried changing the phone number and waiting 30 days, I did that once and it worked.

First of All, happy to read that you can receive now your funds. I know it's very hard to wait for 180 days.

I see only 2 options in your case:

1) You replace the number on the account (is it from US??) and you wait 30 to 45 days, and then you add new bank account.

2) You provide to Paypal the docs requested and they will add manually the bank account for you.

Can you do any of these?

Thanks guys for your advices! As my US PayPal account is stealth, the only option to provide what PayPal is asking for would be to send documents edited with Photoshop. Is it a good idea? Can it harm and make the situation even worse? There is about 5k on hold and I wouldn't want to lose this money.

Is it guaranteed that I will be able to confirm the account with a new phone number if I wait for 30-45 days?

No, certainly not. This will probably be a drawn out tedious process you need to be very careful with.

Do they give you the option to add a new phone number with your account being perma-limited? That would be the first thing to check. If not, you can forget about the adding a new phone number route. If you can add a #, you may or may not be successful by adding a new phone number, waiting several weeks, then trying to send the confirmation text to your new number.

Problem is that a lot of users recently got an error saying "this number doesn't appear to be registered in your name" (or something similar) after adding a new number to a PP account in order to pass security checks like this. That's why I say "may or may not". With this account already being permanently limited I don't think you'll have any luck trying to add a new number anyway.

Using a photoshopping service or doing the shop job yourself would be the other option but that's far more risky in my opinion.
