EIN and LLC issue
 

Hi
I have a stealth account.
I got an EIN and upgraded the paypal.
Now I need to make an LLC (using legal zoom), however, they say I have to contact IRS to change the new LLC's EIN matching the EIN I already got for paypal.

Is this correct? I assumed I would get EIN first and then create LLC and use that EIN for it...but that's not the case?

Always been the case for me but I've never used legalzoom. I've always filled out the LLC stuff myself on my states website. It's really easy.

What I did was make the EIN using the LLC name I planned to register with my state. Then registered said LLC with my state after a few months. It's never caused me any problems and it's been several years.

I don't understand what they're telling you since LLC registrations are handled by states and not the IRS.

Right. I am doing that process on my own now. I think the person on the chat may not really know much about this process.
