Changing contact name in Business account
 

Is it possible to change the contact name on a Business account to a ficticious one?

My business account is registered under my legal name right now, but because I have an "unique" name (and yes, it really is unique), it won't be too hard to find me on Facebook or whatnot (I've had buyers wanting to friend me on Facebook...why, I don't know). Now, my "business" consists of just me, and it's not legally registered with the state (no LLC or formal business application), so I'm not too keen on random people finding me on Facebook.

Are there any methods of adding a ficiticious contact name on PP? I'm not looking to change the name that the account is under since it won't be public to the buyers, but because the contact name is, I want to change it. Since PP requires a photo ID of some kind, I'm stuck as my friends aren't too keen on sharing their IDs, and I am unfortunately an only child (parents aren't too keen on letting me use their information...apparently blood isn't thicker than water). Are there even ID templates available online?

When you have a business account with PayPal, only your business name is shown to customers.

Is that what you're talking about?

I guess what I'm asking is will my personal name ever be divulged to the customer? If someone calls up PayPal asking for personal information, will PayPal publicly give that to them?

When I log into my account and edit my business information, PayPal wants my business name, customer service phone number etc., because it'll all "be made public to the customer" when they order (makes sense), and one of the things is a Contact Name, which is currently set to my own name. PayPal says it's part of the information made available to the customers, but it doesn't show up on the transactions...so what the heck is it for then?

It's true, I had some lady call me on a piece. She found my number. Thats when I was that other person. Buyers have to know how to find it. It's not up front and easily found.
