Confirm Taxpayer Status (Mass residents $600 limit instead of $20K...?)
I got a "confirm your taxpayer status" email and in there it says that Mass residents have a $600 limit, and further down it says that my account is limited, etc. though not only is there not a limitation on it when I log in, there isn't even a notice of this sent to my PP account in "messages" either.
The account is seldom used, and definitely not over any limits. Is that a common spoof email, or was it sent because there really is a lower limit for Mass. residents? (The account was actually a Mass. address, which makes me think the email was not a spoof).
As of right now there isn't any limitations on it, I just used it and I also changed the state and address on the card, address, and all related eb*y and pp stuff, all to a different state. From past experiences, is it possible that PP email was a spoof, or if it wasn't, is it possible changing the state prevents me from any issues since no limitations took effect yet?
Or am I better off calling them and getting ahead to make sure they update my address on file so they can see I'm not a Mass. resident?
If anyone had experience with this, I'd be grateful for your input. Thanks.
