paypal no longer with ebay 2020
 

So i know many have posted this and I am sorry if double posting (I'm also searching but get some conflicted information so that is why i'm posting).

So my master account has been reinstated. I got booted due to shipping times but never sold counterfeit items so luckily they let me back in. My paypal is a different story and i currently accept payment via authorize.net on ebay

So this new paypal news, does that mean more people will use credit card and will be good for sellers like me who accept authorize? (my sales are obviously lower because paypal isn't accepted).

Does ebay have own payment system now where i can sign up with them for direct deposit?

My master account I'm trying to hold on to and be very careful now. Seems like having a account is like once in a lifetime. Too bad my etsy account is gone forever. I tried 4x and they said don't ever contact us again

In March of 2019 you will be forced to remove your Auth.net account and start using eBay managed payments if you want to continue selling. They've already stopped allowing sellers to add merchant accounts to their eBay account.

eBay's payment system is called managed payments. You should be able to find something about it in your eBay account.

Do you guys think we will be able to use an EIN with ebay managed payments, or will it require an SSN? If it requires an SSN then things aren't looking good for stealth.

Merchant accounts are slowly being fazed out. PP being fazed out is estimated within the next few years, but no one knows for sure and those that have been forced to use their current system have seen a significant drop in sales and exposed by many online sources.

so does this mean i cant use paypal on ebay in about 3 months? I thought this would happen next year?

It's merchant accounts that are being phased out completely in March. You've still got a while to use PP.

Ebay will never stop paypal. What they do is that They would let sellers choose ebay’s payment system or paypal. No paypal elimination on eBay.

So I'm using auth.net and is linked now. I want be able to use it March 2019?

My main ebay account as mentioned is reinstated (10k feedback and 100% rating)

But my PayPal is gone. Will I be able to register new ebay payment then?

Seems to make sense if PayPal and ebay is no longer being partners and I'm using my main reinstated account right?

If yes I think that would be greatest news for me cause some people dont wanna buy from me cause of authorize.net ... some dont trust it.


But if I'm not allowed to sign up for the new payment plan... I have no idea what's point of having my account reinstated with no payment plan option.

That's incorrect. It will be eliminated for sellers but not buyers. Buyers will still be able to use Paypal because it's being integrated into Adyen.

You been using authorize I remember for awhile. Is the news ebay will cut it off by March very upsetting for you? What's your payment gateway gonna be for Ebay now?

Anyone also know about situation in in where I have Ebay reinstated and PayPal is gone. Seems I read if you didnt sign up for ebay payment gateway before oct 18th only option is paypal.

And you need some kind of invite or invite request to sign up for it and seems like its available only to handful of people.

i just got an email from ebay saying that we can skip paypal and link our ebay accts directly to our bank accounts, meaning no more paypal fees. Any downsides to this? Could this be less "stealth"? More Privacy concerns?
