I got this on 3 of my 9 accounts... All USA accounts, all personal accounts. Very little use on any of them.

I'll just withdraw to my bank when this change affects my accounts, but do you think that my 6 other accounts that did NOT get this notice will experience changes on Jan. 27 as well?

Could it be those will get hit with the change and didn't get the notice, or could it be the change is likely to hit them farther down the line?

It’s possible they will all get asked for the same information. It would be a total guess on my part though! More importantly what imfomation are PayPal asking for?

are they asking for last four or full SS?

I had several accounts like this this fall. We could not withdraw funds either.

^^That's very bad news yankee

I had a feeling once this started rolling out that bank withdrawals would become a lot harder, if not impossible, from stealth accounts. :(

I also want to add that many accounts in the past week got asked for SS when sending funds even if they already have the information.

I had this notice on three of my paypals so I added bank accts to move money. Then I started buying shipping through paypal. A couple of months later I said what the heck and tried to pay something online with paypal balance and it went through. Then went to two other ebay/paypal and bought shipping supplies and paid with paypal, no issues. So have they reverted back to old policy?

keep quiet about what? I'm slow you guys I don't understand when you all said "revert back to old policy" how did they go back?

i think we need to make a gf of pagpal staff she can brief us how paypal work.

They show up here every now and then, and they never know anything.

Been convinced for a while at least a few of the senior people here and insider moles.

I'm not sure, I mean what is their purpose for being here? Poopal are too busy raking in obscene amounts of cash to give a hoot about what a small amount of stealthers are up to?

Sounds like a similar message in UK when you are creating a PayPal through ebay. EBay and Pp don't share DOB so you have to enter it in PP but it doesn't work for me so I upgrade the PP to Biz straight away and no problems

As long as you have a bank to withdraw the funds to you should be fine. All this email means (As I understand it) is that you won't be able to purchase things with your Paypal account unless you confirm your identity.

So is it the consensus of the elders here that if you didn't get this message on a particular account, it may not hit that account at this time...? Could this be one of several waves that they are rolling this out in?

In my opinion it's probably going to hit all accounts eventually as it's part of their new Terms of Service and they say it's to combat money laundering.
