Paypal sends 1099 to states now too..which ones?
 

I got an email today that Paypal now sends 1099k's to "certain states" now too but doesn't specify anywhere on their sites as to which ones. Does anyone know which ones they are?

I know that in MA & VT a 1099k will go out even if you don't meet the $20,000 and 200 transaction threshold. For them it's only $600 per calendar year.

This is one reason I don't do stealths for Massachusetts or Vermont due to those state reporting requirements.

Yes, that's true. Just wondering about the other states as well. I can't believe Paypal doesn't just list all the states it sends to. I wonder if this is the first year that they are sending to "certain" states". I guess I need to check my last years email from paypal to see if the verbiage was in there previously too.

Ok, so I justed checked my email and it stated the same thing in 2018 about sending the 1099k's to certain states. Guess I won't worry since this was done previously. I do report my taxes but just needed to know for other reasons.

This is more of a tax question and will be state specific.
My guess is it will pertain to any states with income tax.

That is going to be "most" states with the EXCEPTION of:

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.
