How much should I withdraw?
 

I have a paypal account with over 1200usd.

Is it safe to withdraw 900$?

I get holds every now and then after the sale

Depends on many factors. There is no real right or wrong answer.

You are leaving out a lot of detail.

How old is the account?
What is the source of funds? What item was sold? How long has it been sitting there?
Is the account verified?

Etc, etc...

@Mayhard, listen to nickopedia and address those questions first of all - it is important to understand the age of the account and when/what was sold. Also, have you ever made withdrawals before?

The account is quite old, around two years.

I had been selling for a few months, then withdrew everything and withdrew from selling in general for more than a year.

Then I came back few months ago and generated some sales, actually quite a lot since my items are around 20$ and never made a withdraw yet.

if you have id in case the account limited then go take the risk otherwise just withdraw under the limit dont draw unnecessary attention

I would not withdraw more than 50% of the available balance at one time in your situation.

Here is a big clue when it comes to PayPal:

Past transaction history plays a HUGE part in the way PayPal will deal with you.

I'd still do a low withdrawal first of all - around 200 to test the waters but that's my own opinion - others will have different advice

If your account was a few years old with consistent successful selling history and you had less than 1000.00 id say it would be ok to withdraw everything.

I try to stick with no more than 50% of my available balance withdrawn at once (even on my best accounts), assuming that 50% does not total more than a 900.00 withdrawal.

If your account is a business account with an EIN attached you have more leniency and can get away with larger amounts (assuming you have a good selling history).

I have a very old account using my real details from 1999 that has taken in multiple 4 and 5 figure transactions over the years. Of course I would be able to just receive a 10k transaction, and minutes later take it out in one fell swoop into my bank without any issues.

On a new account limited history, this is a completely different story.

Withdraw $300 to $400 at a time every 3-5 days, and you will be ok. Don't do all $1200 at one time.
It worked for me on a $1500 sale, on 1 year old account.

I would start with a low amount, give a few days and take a bigger amount

I am never withdrawing more than 30% of balance, especially on new accounts
