Previously working prepaid CC's no longer working?
 

Anyone notice previously working prepaid cc's not being accepted on PP? I've been using one of the most common non-Vanilla cards from my Home Depot and suddenly today they were declined. Not "not accepted" but declined. I tried several.

Has anyone notice this? Since the pending "claim it"'s took effect, maybe this was another change they made?

I used VBA instead of cc. So far there is no problem.

Yeah avoid VVC as someone here sold me a bad one and now I keep getting an error from PayPal wanting them to call me.. all because I added that dumb VVC...

You probably mean VCC, not VVC. ;)

Yes, there are more than a few blacklisted BIN's, and using a non-USA VCC on a USA PP is always a risk. Whatever you do, stay away from the cheap Vietnamese BIN's that some sellers have. They are known to cause problems.

Advise: Always ask you seller for the BIN of the VCC you are about to buy. Do you own lookups on on beforehand. If your seller is not willing to give you that info, go elsewhere.

Alright then thank you but this is so bad to the point where I'm calling PayPal now...

That's because it's been used and abused. Or just a bad batch or flagged set. I've had a bad set of vcc in 2014, PP even told me over the phone that my cc was the problem and to try to add a newer one. This was almost 5 yrs ago. But we all know that this probably changed also. I use to have greendot and accoutnow years ago. But those prepaid days are gone. Now says u add a vcc, it will show up as prepaid.

They know about these and flag them on the system just like other popular famous prepaid accounts.

OP, would you mind telling us the brand that you tried that are obviously now blacklisted?

Try to avoid VCC's for now as it seems to be bugged cause if it messes you up, your gonna have to end up calling PayPal.

It never did, what are you talking about?? It had a problem AFTER not before.

I called and they resolved it. simple.

There really isn't a name on it, it's the NON-Vanilla ones, to update the info or register it you use prepaidgiftbalance.com which has always worked for me, now several in a row don't. Even with different addresses for troubleshooting purposes.

I don't know if it's specific to my account (no obvious reason, no issues ever) or if it's the type of card, or that it's a prepaid. I assumed if it was the card a lot of people would have noticed this, but I didn't see any mention recently.

Hope that web address helps, it was issued by US Bank National Association, I don't have the package anymore, just the cards.

Elliot, I would be willing to bet good money its the card. I ran into this issue about 2 years ago with a specific brand of prepaid card. Its likely that they have banned the card.

Has to be an actual AVS card now it seems. Had lost money from recent deals cause this.
