Stealth account adding mismatched SSN
 

I think I know the answer to this but searched and didn't see anything so I figured I'd post.

I have a stealth account (have several but my main stealth) in a completely random name that I know is gonna get hit with Claim It soon. Would it be possible to add my brother's SSN to this account? He's never had an account.

So say my account name is Todd Davis and my brother's name is Jim Jackson. Would PayPal know its not Todd Davis's SSN? Basically does PayPal have a way to check these things? I know it'll bounce back on the 1099 if its incorrect info but I won't be getting over the 200 transaction threshold so that doesn't matter.

Also, I am looking for an answer to this specific question, not a solution to Claim It or other ways to add EIN etc.

So, you want to add another person's SSN to your PayPal?

Messing around with SSN/TIN numbers can lead to all sorts of trouble. Don't do it.

That doesn't answer my question. Worst case scenario is I lose my stealth account. Hardly what I would consider trouble.

Convert your payPal account to business and get an EIN number.

If you are w/d to a bank and put a mismatch TIN, I believe the worst that could happen is tax man finding you from your bank.

It wont work. Paypal will reject it. They use some type of vetting when verifying ssn.
