PayPal limited after using ioffer

i woke up this morning and went to look at my pp account to see if my funds were in the bank yet but to my surprise it was frozen. everything has been fine with this account for more than a year. i sold my first item off of ioffer and boom it is frozen. does pp freez ur account for using ioffer?

I've sold several items on ioffer and it hasn't happened to me. My Paypal account has a perfect record though.

Paypal limitations happen with any sort of transaction. Yes, most are related to ebay but they occur with outside of ebay.:tears:

did paypal say why it's limited?

Werfella 08-01-2009 10:40 PM

i called them and the only excuse they gave me was the title my buyers gave the payment for example: Gucci bag ioffer

nothing out of the ordinary.

GreenBean 08-02-2009 12:40 AM

'Nothing out of the ordinary' to you. Sadly the buyer writing Gucci bag and the place of sale, ioffer, meant paypal thought problems. ioffer is well known for the sale of not real items, very well known. paypal protected itself.

ok thanks for the info

Invoice your buyers or give them some form of checkout option. The description should be some oddball set of numbers and a generic category. Example - PN:07-30/2k9_GB_IO

You'll know it was the sale from 30 July 2009 on Ioffer for the Gucci Bag, but PP won't. And your buyer can't screw it up easily.

did they tell you how to get to out of limited status.

haileyk 08-03-2009 10:36 AM

you should never write the name of anything brandname, even if it is legitimate in the information for paypal..they will automatically freeze the money on you...

in this case they will wait for 21 days (was the policy last time i checked) and if the customer does not open a dispute they will release the funds.

Werfella 08-04-2009 01:00 PM

ya they said i had to wait... thanks for all your input

I had an account get limited from Ioffer because without thinking I just put in my new paypal email on there, but what busted me was it was linked to my old paypal that was limited so it linked me again. So the same goes for Ioffer as ebay a new ebay account with new paypal account and make new ioffer account for that new paypal. Don't do what I did.

If you're not selling on eBay, you're not forced to use paypal so most people will just not use it.

TigerLord 08-18-2009 02:56 PM

Probably your country combination with the subject line of the payment.

I use Paypal even out of eBAY... it's the only convenient way to get money to me >48hrs! :>
