trouble add bank account
 

Im trying to add a savings account to my new paypal account and it says error and try later. I added my savings account account number and said deposits will arrive in 2-3 days. Now the button where is says confirm deposits has disappeared and my add citinbank button has disappeared as well.

Recently received the add and confirm button as well but was able to press the X and it would disappear.

Should I try to add another different bank account ?

Does it matter whether its a savings or checking ?

All my others have a checking and this is my first time using a savings

I doubt it's the savings account specifically causing the problem since I have savings accounts linked to 4 or 5 of my PP's.

I don't exactly know what the best course of action would be moving forward for you, but I can tell you it's been getting harder to add bank accounts in general judging by the amount of posts there have been recently here about this same thing.

Should I open another checking and try a new account number ?

Going to try to add a new checking account.

I also opened the savings account and added the number immediate. Was the bank account to new and should I have waited a couple days ?

Trying to figure this out ASAP

It does not matter if it is savings or checking.
I thinkyour new account is too new for Paypal to verify,wait till next day

I would wait a few week and try again. Don't waste another bank account.

I think someone else has posted about having problems adding a Citibank account recently. Sounds like this could be a problem related to Citibank.

Account has been open for three months and has 12 feedback so account isn’t too new.

I use the safari browser on my MacBook and never had any other problems. I have other stealth accounts and haven’t had any problems like this.

Do you think the savings account number is still good ?

I have been able to add a Citibank checking to my previous stealth acct

Should I open a Bank of America checking instead ?

Savings account number should still be good but I'd at least wait a while before trying to add it to a different account.

I could be wrong but I really don't think it's an issue with the particular bank or type of account you're trying to use. This is just Paypal making it a lot harder to add bank accounts before the "claim it" feature goes into full effect on March 29th.

I'd try adding the next bank account you try either over the phone with the automated system, or using instant verify instead of micro deposits. I do not think repeatedly trying the same method over and over with different bank accounts is a good idea at all.

Can you not use instant verify for Citibank? I've never banked with them so I don't know. But another thing that could cause an issue with Savings account is having a $0 balance. With certain banks carrying a $0 balance in your savings will put your account in a "soft close". If you have no money in that savings account, I would transfer a couple dollars into the account and try again in a couple days.

Should I wait and try to the Citibank savings in about a week or use a new Bank of America?

Is it ok to use the instant verification. I’ve always used the micro deposits

Yes I deposited $50 when I first opened but try to add the account number the next day.

I’m wondering if I tried to add the account number too soon as the savings was also a new account

I actually called pay pal and the rep added mine. try that instead

Does it matter if I call PayPal from the number which is not registered on the account ?

Avoid doing that because it will make things harder for you. Spoof your number using a spoofing service if necessary.

The ONLY issue I know of with Citibank from what I can remember (haven't opened any in over a year, and this particular issue happened a couple years ago)..

You need to make sure your online access to your Citibank accounts is up and running, good to go. I had an issue when I opened the bank accounts in-branch, came back to the office with account and routing number in hand, and just tried to add a bank same day.

I believe with Citi you need to sign up for online access, confirm your debit card number (or some other details I may not be remembering correctly) and then once you are verified with them and successfully register your accounts online, adding/confirming a bank is a non-issue.

After this happened, as a precaution, I now wait until I have full online access to my bank accounts and always wait at least a few business days AFTER opening before attempting to add them to a PP

I’ll wait a couple more days and try to add the account number again.

Really don’t want to cancel this account and start a new one

Citibank is kinda iffy from what I remember.

Try a different bank and see what happens.
