Claim it PayPal

How do I avoid getting "claim it" on new PayPals? I've noticed this is a new security PayPal added. How can I avoid this?

I sent myself $3 gift and still got claim it. I was getting it from sales but it seems like all new paypal gets claim it when receiving money. Or am i wrong? What's your experience with new paypals?

I used real ip address and browser. Ip address never used before or banned on pp or ebay

Haven't you been on here long enough to know how to use the search?

Theres no way around it.
As of Mar 29th once the new ToS update hits itll be referred to as a cash account. You will not be able to hole a balance in the account unless you get it DOB+SSN verified. No way around it.
If youre in the US you can still add your US based bank account and withdraw your funds.
Do your research on the forums - plenty of threads discussing it.

when you say won't be able to hold a balance... you mean it will be stuck in "claim your funds" correct brother slokor?

Would we still be able to withdraw if bank is attached?

Yes. If you link a bank account or one is already linked you can withdraw.

Re: Claim it PayPal

On my paypal account I haven't seen the claim it button, however it does have a button

that says transfer money. I do not have SS# attached, but have a bank and debit card

linked to the account.

Lately approx. 80% of my ebay sales are being held under a paypal hold, not ebay.

The pay pal holds should come off in 24 hours after delivery, but over the last 3 held

payments I have had to message paypal reminding them the time has passed for fund

availability and they have been releasing it. This issue is the only difference in my

paypal account that I notice and wonder if this is occurring as we get closer the

transition on March 29th and possibly see a lot more of this occurring. Any one else

having this issue too?

eBay never holds money, since they don't handle the money.

my pay pal account says that eb ay is holding the funds. I even had a pay pal rep advise me to call eb ay. I guess they were lying then... hmm :spy:

I would take everything that a pp rep "advises" with a grain of salt sadly.

What I meant is after my 90 days of selling and having holds on ebay sales,

my ebay sales were no longer held as pending in paypal as I had built

selling history. However recently new holds from payments on ebay sales

and it is paypal now holding till one day after delivery. Not ebay requested

holds. Paypal sends email to me when the sale on ebay has been paid for

and explains in the email that they are holding my funds and explains how

to get my money faster as in adding tracking etc., it further states they have

held due to risk and in case of any chargebacks etc and will release the hold

24 hours after it has proof of delivery. I had been having no problem with

instant availability of my funds until recently and never have had any cases

or chargebacks and also no neg feedback.

This reminds me of when I first started selling and ebay requested the holds

till seller history was built up. Paypal is the one that has determined the

transaction could have risk etc not ebay. I am just concerned why after all

this time now they are holding my payments and I have not had any issues

at all since started my ebay. My selling has not changed, the same volume

in sales and prices. Not all payments are held. About 80% are. There is no

pattern to which transactions are being held. One day an item may be held

and the next the same item will go through instantly. It does concern me.

The account is real name and address with bank attached, but can not give

SS# due to prior banned account. I am just hoping all these holds are not

leading into them requesting SS#.

When I first started selling on ebay, ebay requested paypal to hold the funds

for 3 days. On one of my early transactions being held about a week went

by after delivery and I still had the hold on the transaction that had been

delivered. I phoned paypal and they said yes it was delivered and they had

the proof of that but they could not manually release the funds since ebay

was the one that requested it that ebay would have to request the funds to

be released. I called ebay and they did request paypal to release the funds.

They were available later that day. The Paypal rep said since the split with

ebay they could not manual release the funds since ebay requested it. In

the past they could but not since the split.
