Cashing out at WalMart
 

I have an account that got hit with a claim it already that I can't add bank accounts to because of a security block and Paypal not being able to identify my identity.

If I want to give up on these accounts but want to get my cash that is stuck in there (less than $500) Could I change the stealth info to real info and then cash out? I have to use my ID to receive the funds at Walmart.

I'm just considering last resort ways of getting my money out of this Paypal as I can't spend the balance and can't add a bank at the moment.

So, just to be clear you want to change what exactly on the PayPal? Name & address?

I hope you are aware that PayPal keeps everything, even after you "delete" it.

It's also not possible to change your account name. Attempting to do so is just asking for problems.

No you cant d that.
First off you cannot change the name on a paypal account - they do not allow it.
Second - if you were hit by the claim it issue you cant send funds to begin with - to anyone.
Your plan wont work.
I don't understand why you don't just add your bank account. If you cant do it online just call in and get it done manually over the phone as so many have reported being able to do.

Trust me, I want desperately to add a bank account. But since I had one on the account and then removed it, there's a "security block" on the account and they won't let me add a bank even though it's the same account I removed. They told me Walmart was an option but it wasn't an American rep so maybe they didn't know what they were talking about.

So with claim it and not being able to add a bank, my funds are stuck.

what does WMT have to do with your situation?
do you have a WMT debit card?
if your Paypal account has a dispute from your buyer,.you money is withheld until resolved,so makes no difference if you add bank account

you can try refunding your buyer who filed a dispute and see what happens to your Paypal account

sloker said to call in and manually add your bank account over the phone. It is pretty easy to do.

I've called twice. They wont let me and the account is claim it so can't spend balance. So basically I'm screwed unless over time the security block goes away. Been a month and a half though and it hasn't and I'm being patient- not trying to add it very often. Maybe 4-5 times in that period of time.

some Paypal members do not or will not link a bank account,what they do is get a PAYPAl mc DEBIT CARD and pay $5 a month,link it with Paypal account and move money back and forth.
your money is deposited to a FDIC insured account with Bankcorp BAnk and you pay an account fee each month,cant recall what it is called but it is a MC debit card.
you can get it in store where it is sold and then apply for a permanent one with your name and address,your SS may be??

both WMT prepaid debit card which costs 3.95/month and the Paypal prepaid debit card which cost 4.95 a month can be linked to your Paypal account but to get this card you would need address,ssn and dob.
this is what some online sellers use when they dont have a bank account or dont want their paypal fund to be transferred to their bank account.
if your money is stuck in Paypal account and you cant link a bank account or spend it or send it to someone,may be try getting a bank check for a small fee,not sure if it would work and what about your address,is that the same as the one you registered with Paypal?

yes,but to get a WMT Prepaid debit card which would cost you $3.95 a month,you would need SSN and address and DOB.
Then you can link it with your Paypal account,but you said your Paypal account has stealth name .
As to changing your name of your Paypal account,some who got married ,have been able t o change their last name

Can you send the money to another paypal account? Say a friend's account
and have them give you the money?

If the OP has received money and must "Claim It", it means the funds are held by PayPal until it is "claimed" before it can be sent anywhere. It's all part of that PayPal Cash balance account business; that "claim it" thing. So OP has to add bank account or debit card to withdraw or provide/confirm their SSN/DOB/Name/Address to utilize the PayPal balance functions to even send the money to a friend's account to withdraw.

Like BleepBloop said,Claim it ,you need a Paypal cash account,and to open a Paypal cash account,you need SSN,etc.
Without Paypal cash account,you cant send or buy using your Paypal fund,the only alternative is transfer to a bank account,
may be ask for a bank check,but it would be mailed to the name of your stealth account and the stealth address you gave Paypal.

Just updating this thread. Security block was eventually lifted. Couldn't add my previous bank account linked but allowed me to link a fresh bank account from the paypal site. This had nothing to do with a buyer dispute- just couldn't link a bank account and had no way to withdraw the balance. All good now though :) Lesson I learned was don't keep balances sitting around in Paypal and don't remove bank accounts.
