ebay gift card requires paypal now?
 

Before I wasn't able to register paypal to use gift cards on stealth buyer accounts but suddenly today I wasn't able to use gift card and thought it was because I didn't pay for an offer that got accepted which was like 5 days overdue. So thought that linked 11 accounts from allowing me to use gift cards that was already stored in each account. Called support and they hinted paypal was needed but they were bit clueless as well. At that point I thought roughly 400$ gift card was gone but doing some investigation on my own, turns out registering paypal allowed gift cards to be activated again (sigh of relief :clap:)
Did they do this because so many gift card frauds?

Do you think gift cards will go away? It brings great revenue to ebay and i would think not. But if there is so many frauds happening (i hate these frauds who steal debit cards and get gift cards.. I even get evil eyes from groceries when i purchase lot of gift cards from my own debit thinking im one of them).

Total wrong . Go to link below and try to apply eBay gift card for any item from seller below . I'm sure it's work 100% for you cause this seller accept new method eBay check out .You don't need use any card or paypal to complete payment .
You can use only eBay gift card at check out .Try it

I think OP is saying PayPal and ebay gift is both required because it adds extra security

But hopefully someone can chime in.. I did read someone posting that 3/14 there were gift card changes .. so makes sense. If PayPal and ebay gift card worked for OP then seems that's new method that will work.
