PayPal's Change to PayPal Cash
 

A question I'm sure that has been asked but I can't seem to find a master thread on it. If there is one, could someone point me to it?

Just got back on eBay with one of my trusty Stealths. With this new PayPal update, how does it affect Stealth accounts? I have my stealth hooked up to a bank account that is in my name, yet the Stealth is in a variation of my name. I've had zero issues using Stealths before and not once have they ever been linked. However, with this new PayPal thing, PayPal wants me to either: transfer the money directly to my bank OR keep it in a Cash account with them after I provide them with a ton of identification that people with Stealth accounts obviously won't provide. My only issue with transferring it to my bank account is when it comes time to pay eBay fees and shipping costs. If I allow PayPal to pull these fees directly through my bank account, won't they (or eBay) have access to my full legal name, etc etc?

Should have stated this. My only concern is not getting my PayPal linked with my other PayPals and this eBay linked with the other eBays. I go between four accounts per year and I'm worried that allowing PayPal / eBay to pull money from my bank account (through PayPal) will give them my full name and give them the ability to link my accounts.

I've still not seen the cash account thing on any of my accounts....very strange. I hold a balance right now...

I just saw the change and now it says "Money is waiting for you" and I have $54.77 I can either "claim it" by sending it to my bank account or I can convert it to PayPal Cash. So I did nothing and when I bought postage, it didn't take from the balance, instead it pulled right from my bank account! Not happy.

But it didn't mess up my account so I don't know.

Guess I'll go back to using ShipStation, which I use I just got back into the convenience of using customer's money to buy postage.

All is well, i have a few accounts where paypal pulls the money from my babk account for the shipping and all is good, been like that for me for a few months and no problems

OP - As long as you have your own bank account linked and all you do is withdraw funds to it nothing really changes for you. Business as usual.
You wont be able to use the existing balance to send payments. That's pretty much it. You can still use the linked bank account as the source of funding for payments.

Thanks, good to know... And these are stealth accounts and you're not getting linked to your real info by pulling money from the bank account?

what the ????? All of a sudden pulling from the bank is okay now? I remember this was not the case! Well it has been 6 months since 2 pulls bounced for ebay a payment and im still in business.

Whats changed?

It has never been bad to use your bank account.........Just people regurgitating bad info on the forum.
I always withdraw every penny from paypal and I have always paid all ebay fees from bank account on either paypal or ebay directly.

When you attach the bank account, paypal withdrew the micro deposits. It that was a problem, every stealth account would have been closed when you attached a bank account.
