is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

What is your experience? As you all know, my other thread, I write that i always get the sorry we cannot process your request now error message. I withdrew 15 dollars last time, with no wait times in transfer request processing. Then, I'd say about 62 hours since my last withdrawal, I tried to withdraw again and get that error message. Every withdrawal attempt after that, even past 72 hours, I get that error message.

Would you say that past 72 hours, on the dot, or after, so maybe 73 hours later, will guarantee that you don't get this error message, and then, again 73 hours, and then again 73 hours? This is so annoying!

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

no one knows,it could be your risk profile,it could be how long it takes to clear the payment ,PAYPAL never tell us how your buyer paid you-is it PAYPAL balance, credit card, debit card, bank transfer?
or you could have difficult buyers who has a history of NSF,disputes or from foreign countries etc.
if you must have your money sooner, consider selling locally for cash or other venue which allow you to accept non electronic payment

I never get this error. They just hold my transfer for review...

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

neither do I ,Paypal offers me fund now, meaning no fund will be with held ,if some one files a dispute or chargeback,it would not withhold the fund.
But I am not a high volume seller

How's your activities with this account?
I'm having this kind of soft restriction, i'm not able to send any amount as they say that something is 'fishy' with the way i send funds to other accounts. But never had any problem with withdrawing the funds. I just got 24 hour review of withdrawals, but just this day i tried to withdraw, and it's instant now.

It's because of the IP.

I've been in that situation before and one thing always happened, you will get limited after a while.

Once there are so many security checks, then there will be issues

This is the typical 12 hour review then release.

Are your accounts old? Or you made them recently with almost no history?

He was correct. I also get 12 hour reviews on all of my accounts.

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

Every account will be different and have a risk score/profile associated with it, so the "safe" period for withdrawing is NOT the same across everyone's account, obviously.

On my well aged accounts that are many years old, it's perfectly safe to withdrawal 5-figure sums multiple times a day with no review period. With other accounts, even a single $100 request will trigger the 72 hour review.

Those would be on more aged accounts. Newer accounts almost always get the 72 hours.

So you’re saying these accounts will be limited eventually?

I wouldn't jump into that conclusion tho. I believe it's just normal. I've talked to a lot of reps, they're something triggering their security bots of why it's holding the funds. (I believe i already posted the reason here). Just continue using the account normally, it will eventually go away. I think i did 5 withdrawal holds before i got it instantly (no withdrawal holds now on my accounts)

Ofcourse not, it just means you've done something risky/suspicious.

I got the error on Friday night and thought I was going to have shut business down on that account. Then I logged in early the next afternoon, about 12-14 hours later tried a lower amount than I originally tried and it worked.

Do you guys ever face a similar restriction by just trying to send the funds instead of withdrawing?

Payments under review, you mean?
Yeah, i'm having such restriction with new accounts. Just don't sent payments especially, friends and family option, too often - with high amounts.

It's a small account think it had a balance of $120 tried to withdraw $90 originally. Got denied/error messages after trying several times. Tried less than 24 hours for $50 and got approved.

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

if you have an error "cannot process your request right now", try a less sum of money. i.e.
your balance is 100 usd, you try to withdraw 70 usd and get an error, then try to withdraw 20 usd. Yes, you may get a 24-72 hours review, but it's better than nothing.
Then in 2 days' time try to withdraw 35 usd. If it's ok, next time 65 usd etc.

Honestly, this hasn't been the case for me for a long time now. Any 72 hour hold is extremely rare; even on newer accounts which haven't been doc verified. The standard in my experience (operating 10-15 accounts) is 12 hours these days.

How much are you withdrawing, and how long do you leave the money in the account before withdrawing it? I only ever get under 72 hours if I'm withdrawing low amounts or leaving the money for weeks/months before touching it.

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

I have so much experience with these holds that I instinctively know when to withdraw most of the time and for how much.

It's an algorithm that Paypal uses based on the money you receive and how much you withdraw.

The longer you leave money in Paypal the less you get this error, but of course we don't like to leave money in Paypal in case we get limited.

It happens often when you are trying to withdraw almost every available penny

For example: You have $10 balance, the next day you recieve $100 and try to withdraw all of it, better to withdraw $30

Re: is 72 hours the sweet spot for withdrawing from paypal?

any hold means your account got fraud score points. It can be because of:
recently add/remove card and try to withdraw
recently got the money and immediately try to withdraw
the account is yonger then 1 month
withdrawal of all the money at the account

How about purchases? I dont feel comfortable withdrawing but I need to use the funds for order fulfillment. Will I run into any issues making a bunch of purchases with funds from orders i received about a month ago?

You won't be able to use the funds if your pp is a USA-based one since it would have to be SSN verified - otherwise, withdrawal to bank only
