I didn't get an e-mail about this or anything.

Just logged into PP account and it says at top of page "Account Alert" and then this below it: Provide identity documents
To help keep your account secure, please provide documents that confirm your identity. If you’ve already added them, thanks. We’ll email you once we’ve reviewed them.

I'm still able to transfer my balance out to a bank account. Just wondering what will happen if I ignore this. Haven't seen this on any other accounts and I can't PS a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ID.

I have it on one of my steath accounts and really they don't do much interrogating after that

I had this happen to me in December. At first I panicked. Stop using account account for a week. Then said F*** It. Let's see what happens.
What happened?
Nada. Nothing. Still operating without problem.
I wondered about this, checked that the message really was from PP - (it was) and still wonder. Never heard anything since.

I'm still operating too. I think they will accept a paycheck stub which is easily made by free online programs but they still want to see the full social. No one has tried substituting their EIN for the social as far as I know. I'm pretty sure they have the same amount of numbers.

I've tried submitting my EIN for a social. The system won't even except it.

EIN and SSN have different issuing government departments.

IRS issues the EIN. The SSN is issued by the Social Security Administration.

Their numbers will identify their origin.

Well they ask that so you can use your balance to purchase, if you are transferring to bank only, just ignore it.
