This is a rant: How the hell do any of you supports yourself full time by any given moment paypal can shut down your account and link you or change their terms to destroy everything that takes alot of efforts to build. Also the stealth book is extremely outdated someone should make an updated version or a more comprehension version.

No, they can't, that's what stealthing is for. If you're stealthing properly only one account would get banned at a time. Plus, who cares if a PayPal gets banned, you'll get it in 6 mos. Atleast they don't steal your money like Amazon.

I think you will find many users actually have other businesses or a real job or their ebay business has a brick and mortar store.

You are right you can't depend on paypal or ebay as a sole provider of revenue. It's madness.

It's not that hard if you can find good products to sell that don't break eBay or Paypal's rules. This forum is mostly people who haven't been able to do that.. they repeatedly get kicked off for selling a bad product and they never make any real money. There's a handful of members here who have made a full time living off of eBay for years though.

I have a day job and I think many do here as well. I would never rely on PayPal and eBay for my total income.

It's definitely possible - and if you apply yourself you can make a lot more $ than you ever would by working for somebody else. I was taught as a young teen that you never reach your full potential by selling your time to another man (working for somebody else in other words) and I've lived by the idea since.

Having the right attitude and keeping yourself motivated is half the battle. Stealth sellers tend to be the bottom of the barrel. These days it seems to be mostly people trying to hustle an extra buck by selling illegally obtained digital codes, or dropshippers. You're destined for failure with either of those business models.

If you look around on the eBay community forums there are thousands of people who support themselves full time on eBay.

Pretty easy. I've been full time doing ecommerce now for over 10 years. When I first started about three months in PayPal shut me down.

After that I discovered stealth and have never looked back. I manage all my online sales over multiple accounts so if one did get shut down (Which hasn't happened for a long time now) then all my eggs aren't in the one basket

ya ive noticed that once you start not doing the same thing that got your account banned you never really run in to the problem of getting banned lol

Some pretty wealthy people here. Most of them on here that are doing very well was all because of ebay and/or amazon.

Nearly 100% of my income is from ebay since 2003 Just now am I spreading around a bit.

What other businesses do you guys invest in or recommend? I have some good savings from a few years of eBay & minimalism. Just don’t know what to do with it yet

Are you crazy?

eBay/paypal is just a venue to sell stuff. Sure they could shut you down at any time and it is really horrible but we learn to take precautions. Just like in the real world if you have a store, your store could catch fire, you could be robbed, etc... so you have a fireproof safe, keep a gun under the counter, etc...

Business is business. The strong/perseverant will always survive.

I recommend that if you ever ask a question like this you should put it in a brokerage account and do something else until you have an idea. Nobody will ever give you helpful advice. Wow. Go online and shop for stuff you have a personal interest in, try to spy on them, steal their suppliers, try to outsmart them, etc.. find some kind of niche with something you know. If you have money you don't know what to do with don't even try it man. You'll get eaten alive. No chance. There is no strategy. This website is for people who got kicked off of eBay and are struggling to survive and some people trying to help them.

Good luck. Sure money to be made but not so easy.

IF YOU WANT TO continue selling on Ebay and other venues,then use that money to find good items to resell,Ebay is a treasure cove if you know where to look and what to buy.
Or you can just open an account with CIT,AMEX,Synchrony,Virtual banks and earn some interest,take a look at AMEX money market account.
The stock market is tanking every day due to tariff,Hwawei,economy,there are some bargains there.
And there is also the mattress !

I used to work 5 days a week. And eBay on the go(phone) pack in the evening and dispatch on my lunch break or rush straight after work. I realised working(for the man) was causing me to not earn to my full potential on eBay.i quit work when I was making 300-£600 a week on the bay. Best thing ever. Now I focus only on eBay and I make a good profit. It ain't easy though but better than working 5 days a week .

those who said they do fulltime and support themselves with their online business,they could have no car and house payments ,their spouse could cover their health insurance or the govt does.
Like I use my sales proceeds ,besides acquiring new stock,I use it t o pay for gas,hair,grocery and utility bills,nothing major.
