Bank reversal bank account closed.
 

My account is 180 days past I withdrew to my bank account and it went completed on the 19th. The following day I received emails stating the bank account was closed and the funds were being reversed. The funds never went back to my PP account and the transaction status still says completed. Agent I spoke with told me its a glitch and to wait 3 business days and its all because my bank account is inactive not closed.

Chase has been known to be problematic.

I will not recommend JP Morgan Chase anymore for mismatched names. This is at least the 4th or 5th time I have seen threads like this.

so it is not his bank account is inactive or closed,it is the name mismatch?

If an account is inactive or closed, deposits could fail - is that what you mean?

If the deposit did fail why hasn't the amount been returned to my PayPal account? The transaction is still sitting at "COMPLETED" I did it on June 19th and I think it went completed on the 20th. So either its still processing or the funds are in limbo somewhere. Also if it was a mismatch the transaction would have said "Failed"

Takes a while for funds to show up back in the PP account - I know of a few people who have had funds returned to PP and had to call up PP to make sure funds were replaced into the account. PP can suck in this way :( Only 2 days have passed in your case

It's the weekend. I wouldn't get your hopes up until Monday.

When a withdrawal shows as "completed" in PP it just means they submitted the ACH and finished their end of the transaction. It still takes some time for the bank to receive the ACH and credit to your account.

The deposit probably tried to hit your closed bank account yesterday. Your bank sent it back but PP's bank was closed for the weekend.. so at the soonest you'll see the $ back in your acct on Monday. (probably)

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but ACH's aren't processed on the weekend because the automated clearing house doesn't work on weekends.

Or do you mean your chase account isn't closed? If that's the case, they probably just rejected your transfer because names didn't match and chase doesn't like mismatches.

Either way the $ should be back in your PP Monday.

IF your account is not inactive or closed,then the message Chase is giving is misleading,it just have not come up with a new error message yet!like name mismatch.
There are cases where the fund does end up in limbo,somewhere in PAypal suspense account,if you dont see it next week,you have to ask Paypal to do a trace.

You mentioned Chase closed your account, so did it land in the same (now closed) account?

It was never closed just inactive, I assume due to the lack of funds the account was holding.

Oh man, that would really bother me. I haven't had that happen to me (knock on wood) but I would just sit tight, wait a few days. If funds have not returned to the PayPal account after a few days I would call them. Sorry man!
