UK bank attach to stealth asking for code???

Hi . Iv attached a bank account /card to my stealth PayPal. It only asked for account number n sort code. It then said I needed to confirm the code sent to my bank. Then I confirmed the code and it said your Santander current account is set up/complete. Is it normal PayPal send this code . Then know which bank u are using. ???? Hope I didn't fuk up somewhere.
