I'm done withdrawing funds to check
 

I initiated the transaction on June 14th and it went completed either last Monday or Tuesday. I never recieved it last week I have no idea why I havent received it yet but if I do I'm done withdrawing via check.I see why now nobody here even really makes check withdraws.

You mean you transferred fund from Paypal account t o your checking account?
if status from Paypal is completed,it just means it has asked its bank where your money is kept to transfer the fund to your bank via ACH,which is 1-3 days.
does your Paypal name matches your bank account name?
what is your bank?

I read it more than once,trying to figure whether it is poor writing as many just cant type with their cell phone -does he mean checking account or paper check?
'withdrawing to check' could mean withdrawing to a checking account OR like you prefer to mean 'sending him a check'?
if he has a stealth account,does he want his check mailed to his stealth address?
Paypal check is mailed USPS first class mail and depends on where you are,could take 3-5 days.
Iguess a better way to find out is to ask him-did he pay $1.75? for a check to be mailed to him?

It's obvious what was meant after seeing that; almost everybody here talks about withdrawing to a checking account, while there are relatively few posts about withdrawing to a cheque.

I mean I've never seen anyone here say withdrawing funds to check as in checking account. That's the first time I've heard someone think it meant withdrawing funds to a checking account. Every time I hear someone say those words it meant withdrawing funds via check as in a paper check through the mail. I really didn't think I needed to be specific guess I do....anyways I meant paper check through the mail.

If I recall, checks usually take about 2 weeks or so for people to receive.
it's not the typical 3-4 days of mailing period.

Normally checks for me take 3-4 days I'm in the U.S.

it depends on when they print the checks and where do they mail the checks ,west coast to east coast takes longer,USPS first class could take 7 days if it is going to NYC.
It was money order,now they change it to a bank check !

There's something I don't understand. If OP requested a check to be sent by Paypal, they're going to send them a check with their Paypal name on it, right?

If you're abroad right now and don't have a US bank account, and you give your buddy's address to send the check to - There's literally nothing you can do with the check other than cash it in a bank under your name, right?

Or is there a way for your buddy to cash it/add the funds to a VCC somehow?

OP is in US and lives at the address where the check is being sent !
You can either deposit the check to your bank account OR go to the bank and cash the check,if you have an account with that bank.
I used to go to a hair stylist ,when I wrote him a check drawn on WFC ,he will just go to a local WFC branch and cash it,he does have an account with WFC ,but he does not want to deposit in his account,he will take the cash and do whatever he wants.
Now I understand,if he is ever audited,the auditor would not see the deposit which would count towards his income,and if it is a state audit,he would have to collect and remit sales tax .

But would it be technically possible to use a check from Paypal without cashing it in a bank or someone else cashing it instead? Or just putting the amount on the check onto a VCC balance?

If you don't have a bank account in the US and the only option is to either withdraw or give them your SSN and document scans, for example.

I dont know how one can add the check $$ to a VCC,you have to find out from the VCC issuer?

Well yeah. Your answer was generally an "I don't know, you should probably find out." followed by an irrelevant question (am I in the US like my flag suggests).

My question was whether or not a check issued by Paypal this way could be used without having to open a bank account in case you don't have one. This would be really useful if somebody has their PP account funds blocked and asked to either provide SNN and all that stuff or withdraw to bank.

Believe it or not, some people don't want to give out their SNN to a company like Paypal. Getting a check you can cash in in a VCC that's unsupported with direct Paypal withdraw would be a very nice option.

Blaine, checks were great until fairly recently. Now, they are a pain in the ass if they ever arrive.

If your bank account allows miss-matched name deposits, they allow miss matched name deposits...... so mobile app deposits are very easy OR just make a check using the check details and edit the name.

Forget anything agent says. He is just an old dude bored at home trying to spread his wealth of irrelevant information. He might be the most hated member on this forum and IMO should be removed.

the reason why I asked if you are in US is because some folks will have a flag of US,but they are not in USA.
The check Paypal sent you will be drawn on a US bank.
also the idea of editing the name on the check is not a good idea,but then we are free to do what we want,it is up to you

come to think of it,if you are not in USA and you receive this Paypal check made out to you drawn on a US bank,you can take it to your local bank(assuming you do have a bank account in your own country) and ask them to clear for you,there will be a fee,but it can be done.
I am in USA ,I have done it with a check drawn on a UK bank,my bank does charge a fee.

I hardly work. I take YEARS off at a time. I retired when I was 33 years old and since work 2-3 months of the year while traveling the USA as a full time RVer for the past years.

I own my own brands. I own my own factory over seas and I have employees do the vast majority of the work.

Get a clue right after you find a life and something productive to do. :croc:
