PayPal suspension permanently

Hey guys so i got an email yesterday from paypal saying im banned permanently I have a website and eBay account linked with this PayPal address I rang PayPal and they said its due to selling cbd oil I removed this item from my website in April because my friend told me his account got banned selling cbd oil on his website.

So the PayPal rep told me hed put an appeal in for me and should get an answer thid week... how likely is it that I could get my account back are they usually ok as I believe they have made a mistake. I am also planning on using an alternative payment gateway going forward on my website but do need the PayPal for eBay.

Also i went onto eBay website and put my brothers PayPal details onto my listing and it was working if they don't open my account I plan on using this until I move premises and open a new business bank account

Can anyone tell me if i would need to change my ip address if i plan on logging into my brothers PayPal from the same house?

Kind regards

Re: PayPal suspension permanently

Paypal doesn't change its mind, a limitation is already a decision made by them which can never be reversed

Appeals can work, but they are rare. My company went from permanently limited to restored after much effort, but that's because there were no violations, which I pointed out to PayPal (with proof). From your other thread, it appears you at least understand their reasons for the ban, and so you just have to work with that. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the product is that you were selling, but only you will know if it was legit and permitted/authorised. Letting an agent at a call center deal with it is the least optimistic path you could take. Feel free to post your updates with this initial appeal anyway and I'll jump in with some advice if it's a no-go.

I'm no eBay user, but I think linking your brother's PayPal account was a mistake. From what I understand, this is one of PayPal's linking methods (with the idea that an issue with an eBay account/listing holds any linked PayPal account responsible). IP addresses are a concern when you're playing about with stealth accounts or multiple accounts on the same name, but when it's for different people in the same home, there's no way you can be expected to have different IP's. It's no issue, but the previous point still applies (being that your brother may also be held accountable for your eBay issues).

Hey guys wrote a letter to paypal and they came back with the following

Welcome to PayPal Customer Support! My name is Michelle and I hope this email finds you well.

PayPal maintains an Acceptable Use Policy to identify the types of products and services that are prohibited and those that require pre-approval.

Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the buyers and sellers to ensure they are compliant with all applicable laws. All customers are required to conduct transactions in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy. Sellers should also carefully read both the eBay Prohibited and Restricted Items Policy and the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy if they plan to use PayPal as their payment processor for eBay auctions, storefronts, and websites. Failure to comply with these policies may result in limitations placed on your ability to use the PayPal system.

It has come to our attention you are selling items that violate our acceptable use policy.

Our decision to leave your account in a permanent limitation status is final. Per the User Agreement, when PayPal permanently limits an account due to an Acceptable Use Policy violation, we may hold your funds up to 180 days.

Please go to the 'Legal Agreements" link located at the bottom of any PayPal webpage and click Acceptable Use Policy.

Thank you for choosing PayPal.

Sincerely,
Michelle

It's just a product that sits in their grey area i'm afraid. I don't think you have a chance of getting your account back.

Just move on with a new stealth account.

Agreed, you'll need to move on to other accounts.

Anything related to CBD or Cannabis = final nail in the coffin for any Paypal account. They're worried about getting into legal trouble over it so they no longer want anything to do with you. You're now bad juju to Paypal.

Cheers guys i will move on

I got a few options now :

I can use my friends account as he never uses it

I can buy a stealth account

I'm moving house in a month so can change all the details and use my middle name to open the account on my name

I can add a new user account hide my ip address and use my brothers account

Which options are the best please

Also after reading more into it I think I've made a mistake by adding my brothers PayPal to my usual eBay account Which had my old PayPal if i remove it now is it still likely to get banned?

Ultimately continuing selling CBD oils will risk any new paypals. That's why I am saying to move on to a stealth account. Create loads of throwaway stealth accounts without the intention of longevity just to sell off your remaining stock.
