PayPal Beneficial Ownership INFO
 

Hello,

PayPal is requiring us to provide beneficial ownership information for our LLC because more card sales through eBay. We have 2 eBay accounts under 1 PayPal account and everything has been fine, no negative feedback, a few item not received cases opened but resolved in our favor, some charge backs found in our favor. About $15k revenue every month. Had the main account since 2017 and a secondary which was made beginning of 2019. My wife and I had 2 paypal accounts, they were never banned or limited but we stopped using them at our old address when our eBay account got permanently banned. We've never logged into them since then but remember putting our SSN in to our old accounts on PayPal. Those old accounts have our old address, SSN, and the updated last name (my last name). We made a stealth paypal and ebay at a new address, new ip, her real name but nickname (ie Kristen but put Kris) and then her maiden name for last name which she kept her maiden name as her middle name and took my last name when married. It's asking to provide address, SSN, Birthday, etc, now we were never banned on PayPal but we would think that since eBay and PayPal are split companies that it wouldn't matter with limiting our account on eBay or PayPal if we put our real info in when asking.

I want to know if anyone has any idea what to do, I don't want to provide wrong information or jeopardize our account or our business.

1. Space out your texts for future posts please.

2. eB and pp are separate on paper but still fairly intertwined :(

3. If the old accounts with your SSN are perma-banned then you cannot re-use this info ideally.

Sorry, I was in a slight rush to post it just to get it up to hear responses back. I will space it out next time.

SSN is on PayPal but not on eBay, so you think it will flag the new eBay account even though the old eBay account was only banned, not the old PayPal?

Any update on this situation MxTx? Did you end up providing your original information or how did you get around this request from PayPal?

Any information you could provide would be awesome as I just got this email from PayPal as well and am curious how to proceed.

Me too. I got the email this morning. I see no work a round.

I got it and my deadline was November 7th, the cut me off today.

I had entered it online and they kept showing the limitation, but when I would click to add info it said my information was verified and approved. I called in and they had me fill out another form online. Said it will be lifted in 24 hours if info is what they need.

I called in after waiting 4 days for them to review my info. One as transferred to a supervisor and he put me on hold about 5 minutes. Came back and said limitation had been removed and I could use my account.

My account now works and can receive funds again. Oddly enough the banner at top says I'm limited because of beneficial owner stuff, but my account works just fine now.

so you just put your own info in there? or did you not submit any info? im a little confused on how your account was lifted from limitations. thanks for responding and sorry for my ignorance

Good work and congrats on getting the limitation removed! Did you provide your real information or did you provide stealth information with last 4 of EIN or something along those lines? Thanks in advance for any information!

A lot of people on here would like to know what info you provided to get the lift on the beneficial owner ban. Did you provide real info that was banned before?

Hey, I've had 2 accounts now permanently limited on PayPal, and I'm looking for alternatives, it turned out that my sister has a 3 year old personal PayPal account, Can I use her account as stealth account and later can I transform it into a business account with LLC documents which right now I'm applying for? Would that work?

How can paypal verify the beneficial owner?

You can match EIN TO an LLC

their system can’t match EIN to personal name as far as I know

The thing is her account is already aged at 3 yo, once I transform it into a business account with LLC, I'll have all the papers like articles of incorporation, and the structure of organization, and I'll have my dad as the director as well as the beneficial owner and the my sister as commissioner, and nowhere in the papers would they have my name at all. So it'd be like my sister's / my dad's company, would that work?
