Why are you afraid of adding an EIN?

you can make $20k payment via Paypal, you just have to get its approval ,5-6 figures sales take place on Ebay - antique watches, gold bars, etc.
Some sellers would even accept Paypal payment for autos, altho I would not advise such.

10K is the maximum single transaction since 2013 You can make as many 10k transactions as your heart desires.

not so,transactions in 5-6 figures take place daily on Ebay ,buyers paid 5 figures for antique watches and 5-6 figures for gold bars.
you just have to get approved by Paypal.
Just met a local guy who is known in the trade as Mr Rolex,he shops online for expensive wrist and pocket watches, fix it and resell for good profit,he buys on Ebay and online auctions and pay via Paypal or with his cc card.

you mean 10k

if it was 1k, that would be super easy to get banned for

No, they mean 1K, because $1kx12 months is about $12k. Tho he's being a little conservative. I'd say don't pass $1500 a month. Which was fine for me. But apparently you also can't pass 150 items total. Which sucks, cause I was selling a few things for $10, which got my count way up.

You can get an EIN. You do not get a new SS just an EIN. It is nearly impossible to change your SS.

Some people are saying paypal will ask for the entire SS number. This has not bee my experience and if it happens, I will add the EIN number for both numbers, same as we have been doing for the years for the last 4.

Paypal/amazon/manged payments etc can only ask the IRS one question, Does this number math this name? and the IRS will reply with a Yes or No answer.

That being said, it is not all that uncommon for Paypal to ask for Articles of incorporation or equivalent. Sometimes a letter of good standing from the secretary of state. We have been asked for the articles of we want to use the account balance. We have ignored for close to a year now and can only withdraw to a checking account.

So I tried buying another paypal, and the seller told me it's very risky. Wouldn't paypal just notice there was another paypal account connected to the same ebay?

I think we are having a different conversation... I'm not talking about large transactions. I'm talking about total individual transactions.

yes,the two paypal accounts are linked via the Ebay account, but as long as the paypal accounts are not suspended,it should not be a problem.
ifi t bothers you, then pair your new Paypal account with a new Ebay account

the point was, to not sacrifice a 6 year old steady and consistent selling account.

called paypal, and they are claiming the IRS contacted htme, saying the information I provided, does not match, so they are requiring my SS? Match what? what the hell are they talking about? Why would the IRS contact them in the first place about my account? What total bull****. I called her a straight up liar.

Re: Is there really no way to get around paypals request for SS?

you'd be surprised who can and will contact Paypal and Ebay and AMZN as well,IRS,FBI and any law enforcement agencies around the world.
IRS can subpoena member records
An antique dealer who has a brick and mortar store was audited by IRS,IRS requested his account history from Ebay
An Ebay seller sells on Ebay ,acccepted Paypal payments buy never ship anything, some one snitched and FBI investigates and find out the payments are for funding US ISIS terrorism acts.
Many disabled Ebay sellers receive govt aids ,they dont like their sales proceeds transferred to their bank account as the states can and will find out by accessing these accounts,I dont know if they can access their Paypal account ,probably not.

Re: Is there really no way to get around paypals request for SS?

I know this thread is a little old..but I've had alot of problems with the tax info questions..

I'm still trying to figure out a way around. But from many accounts being frozen..what I do know is the first request comes at 150 sales, the second request is at 175 sales. the closer you get to 200 sales the more documents they require. Having lost too may accounts from this...my most recent I tried to upgrade to business account around 160 sales. After entering the EIN...I got a request for proof of business EIN, Proof of address i.e. utility bill etc. and proof of business in good standing. they want you to send the actual documents. A little research and it will say exactly what documents they will accept and the ones they wont. All the requested documents are public record so they can easily verify. sorry if i'm repeating others comments..
