Verizon has an option to "sleep" your account. (keep your same #)
For those who use prepaid Verizon for phone/data for selling accounts, I just discovered that Verizon will actually let you put your account on "vacation mode" for about $10/mo for up to 90 days.
So if you're not going to sell for a while, and are tempted to let your service run out because of it, then $30 for a 3 month pause is a bargain for all the convenience that comes from keeping your same number and sim that you've been using prior to your time-out.
For me, I stop selling in the few months before the holidays since everything seems so touchy over that time of year (and I work another job) and this year I'll be able to keep all 3 of my numbers when I start up again in Feb.
Things are way harder now if you aren't using the same # you set up the account with, and I just looked up if this was an option in the fine print, and it was. It's way better than just letting your service run out and then getting a new number so many months down the road when you start up the service again and then updating your info on file. It's not as trouble-free as it used to be.
Just wanted to share since I never saw it mentioned in the forums here.
