Does TextNow get you flagged?
 

Someone told me that textnow gets you flagged by paypal and is the reason my stealth paypal account was limited when I created it, after ensuring I did every other step in account creation correctly. Doesn't seem likely to me as I haven't heard that before, anyone can ocnfirm?

Yes, textnow, GV and other VoiP services will not work. You must use a real phone number for account creation. Mobile phones from the big 4 wireless carriers (Sprint, AT&T, T Mobile and Verizon) work best because most of these phone numbers have yet to be used and abused.

DO NOT create your accounts with these VoIP apps- they are trash and heavily used/abused. Use a real phone number from an actual mobile carrier just as the poster mentioned above for the best results.

if u use gvoice ur account will last 3 months then banned. Also make sure carrier is thet EXACT country.

Can you help point out what services and what I need to do? Do I NEED to buy another phone and pay for a phone plan with mobile carriers? sounds expensive.

there are cheaper options in usa. there are sim cards where you can pay like 5-10 dollars a month to get a phone plan.

and no you dont need to buy another phone if your just using it for the call service.

I use prepaid phones; Tracfone is a favorite, but there is also Net10, Cricket, Boost, ATT Gophone, etc. Go into any Walmart or Bestbuy and they have some quick options.

eBay is also a good place to pick up prepaid phones/sim cards in bulk. You can sometimes get lucky and get a deal on multiple lines of service.

What do you mean? I’ve bought a few accounts from a main seller here on aspkin that has had gvoice and the account has been solid for almost a year now

hey so i can use google voice to receive the text code from paypal right? do i need to use it on the same user as the stealth paypal?

a year ago is incredibly obsolete. Ebay/paypal are changing by the week now. What worked a year ago will not work today. What worked two months ago, will not work today and if it did work two months ago, your account could be closed tomorrow.

That is what he is talking about. I do not particularly like the dude much and he says mostly garbage but he is right about phone services.

This is 100% on the mark.

People need to understand what worked before may NOT work today. I receive a constant stream of PM's from people here asking me to recommend a VoIP provider that works. The truth is, the vast majority of them NO LONGER work. You need a REAL phone# from an actual mobile carrier like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint for things to be reliable.

The same is true with IP's. People think they can get away using public proxies or VPN's with reckless abandon. That worked awhile back, but it's no longer the case.

PayPal and eBay have upped their game people.

I mean no offense to anybody here but some of what is being said here is inaccurate.
Textfree and those apps are indeed a death sentence for accounts these days.
I don't find that to necessarily be the case for google voice though - but it does have a lot to do with the methodology of doing things. The simple fact of the matter is that every single account I sell comes with a google voice number attached.

Google Voice can be added in AFTER the account is created, but it's not going to really work well if it's the only number used in creation. That's been my experience time and time again.

Just wanted to tell you I appreciate you helping in this thread, means alot to me. I have decided on buying a prepaid phone through tracfone, costs 15 dollars one time payment. It has 30 day service only, this would work right? I assume I wouldn't need the phone after the first confirmation text from paypal.

What a lot of account sellers do is create the account using a real mobile phone, then they switch to a GV for the ease of management and portability.

It does sometimes take a little time particularly with PayPal to recognise the new phone number for verification. This is why it's important to keep your phone numbers active all the time in the event they want to call/text for "quick security checks".

Keep the phone number FOREVER!!!!

It is more important today. Paypal will quite possible want a text verification for adding a bank account, withdrawing funds, adding a credit card, changing an email address, using account balance, bank transfers etc...

so, without virtual phone, what is the cheap way to receive sms from ebay/paypal outside of usa? dose tracfone work in other country? heard t-mobile has a plan for just 3~4 dollars a month.

Textnow has been abused for a while now, I don;t quite recommend using it.

I have tried tracfone up in Canada and it wasn't working few years back so I doubt it works outside of the US.

Perhaps look for help within the US - I'm sure there are service providers for a fee...
