Yes. There really aren't any special precautions you have to take when using a virtual machine vs. an actual machine. VM's are designed to look and feel just like an actual machine.
I will say that one thing to be aware of when you're setting up VM is the type of network connection you setup for the VM. If you choose "NAT" the virtual machine will share your host computers internet connection. If you choose "bridged" your VM will connect directly to your local network (so if your host is 192.168.0.2 on your network, the VM would show up as 192.168.0.3 or whatever the next available IP is).
I prefer to use bridged mode because then the VPN on my VM isn't running through the VPN that my host machine is connected to. But if you're going to be using VPN's as your IP solution, you can go with either NAT or bridged and either will work fine. |
