Halifax UK Bank account shut down
 

Hello all, I am using my personal Halifax account for a stealth business. I have opened 6 accounts under my main account. But today I tried to deposit some cash in my local branch and they informed my account will be closed soon and they put hold on all transaction. They asked for my id and said the source of money. I didn't have iD with me so I said i will back tomorrow.

so my question anyone experienced this type of situation and how did you solve it? Will bank release my money and if they do how long they will take to solve all this..

They'll be closing your account due to breaking T's & C's. Best case scenario using a personal account for running a business, worst case they suspect you of money laundering / tax evasion. If you can prove where the money is coming from and going to and all taxes are being paid you should get your money back but you can kiss your account good bye.

I don't mind if they close my account. I have money in my account. I just want money out of the account. if they ask for where the money comes from, should I say it is from PayPal or i contact with accountant?

I would be sure to withdraw all the funds as soon as possible this happened to me a few years with Natwest one day I woke up my mobile banking didn't work nor did my online banking and I went to the branch to ask what was going on and they said they couldn't tell me nor could I withdraw cash or anything then I got a letter through the post a few weeks later saying to take the letter to the branch and withdraw all my cash as they didn't want me as a customer anymore
