Default Paypal balance negative (Debt collectors) question

Hello people,

I'm relatively new to the eBay Stealth thing (compared to the majority of people on this forum) but I've faced my fair share of problems!

I was on my stealth selling account and a customer charged back a purchase (£2000) but I had emptied my paypal balance, so the account is now indebt.

It has none of my real life information except I'm not 100% sure if i've previously linked my real bank account to the account, would there be any chance of paypal/debt collectors catching up to me or anything?

It does not matter if it is a stealth account or not; if your bank account is attached to it, PayPal will want their money. If they succeed in pulling it out your bank account, you would have presented PP with an opportunity to see your real name.

Why would you not be sure if you linked your accounts: Don't you have access to your bank or PayPal accounts?

Oh no i meant, at one point my bank account was attached to it, if it was i probably removed it (that's why i'm not sure).

But i'm saying would it make a difference if it had been linked once before than if it hadn't ever been linked? As that's the only thing thing tying the account to me (that's assuming that they're able to see previously linked bank accounts)

First they will ask you to transfer fund to bring the account to neutral.
if you are still selling, the sales proceeds will be used to cover the deficit
Ah okay, I'm thinking of completely ditching both the paypal and ebay sellers account really, but i dont know yet

Are you really going to sit there, day in day out, wondering for the sake of such a small sum of money?
I bought virtual goods with it, didn't withdraw money to my bank account but if i did then i'd be screwed i'm guessing?

Oh, ok sorry, I misunderstood.
In that case, you should be fine. But be aware that loses like that make PayPal tighten their security which in turn makes stealth harder.
But I think you should see the case through and save your PayPal, especially if the limits have been lifted. If I have to give up £200 away to keep a strong pair of accounts going (if limits are lifted) I would.

yeah i would but it's not too strong of an account though that's why, and the account balance is 2000! not 200 (typo!)

i haven't linked my real credit card nope! but yep there' is a credit card just not linked to me at all.

So from what i understand, the only thing linking me to that account is just the fact that i previously linked a bank (in my name) to the account (and withdrew some money to it now that i fully checked the transactions!)

In my experience, we had a paypal negative balance at about 5000 usd in a given account. This is happened more than 10 year ago. That paypal was created with a real name. Only calling and simple letter without signature. After 1/2 years or so they stopped to send letter and try to call

£2000 isn't peanuts they will definitely investigate further.

I would transfer that money from another stealth account and settle the debt.

But more to the point, don't you have anyway to fight that charge back you got ?

In my opinion you are safe. Paypal is a very rich company and for her 2000 or even 5000 pounds it I think that small sum. I think so. I was in debt in Paypal something 600 usd, connected my bank account and simply nothing. They resembled the moment and that's all. If Paypal wasn't so devilishly rich (this company is earning a few hundred million probably annually usd) it certainly would search for money.

Even though is losing through so as you a few, a dozen or so million in spite of it will certainly earn it a few hundred million

I peeked to the Internet and is written that paypal earned in 2018: 511 MILIONS USD m@d@faka !!!! (five hundred million!)

I don't think they are upset with your overdue money Ihihihi :]
