is Paypal getting soft?

Usually Paypal always credit the buyers on ebay purchases regardless of who's fault is, but lately Paypal is looking into and investigation the case as they should.

I sold a computer software online and one of this buyer open a case against me without any reason, I asked the buyer to provide a reason, but no reason or answer I was provided. After 10 days he escalated the case to Paypal, and paypal did not just reward him and asked the buyer the same question to provide some proof of software problems or errors and then after 3 days I received this email from Paypal.

Good to see PayPal doing the right thing for you.
The customer was probably trying it on.

I wonder if eBay will go soft too seeing that sellers are running out of stock due to the virus outbreak in China.
If wishes were horses...

They're not getting soft. As based on your case, the buyer didn't respond to what paypal has asked for. So paypal sided you. Congrats on this nonetheless :)

Yes you are right my friend it was from ebay, got confused as it seems but having said that, as stated above, the viewing of the case and the final decision was made by Paypal and that is why I question, has paypal gone soft?

Is it because paypal soon will not be part of ebay payment system?

Re: is Paypal getting soft?

could be,Paypal and Ebay always have an incestous relationship.
Since he did not open a case on Ebay first, but go right to Paypal,Paypal could return the case back to Ebay.
Only if he lost his case on Ebay and then go to Paypal, then Paypal will decide.
Likewise,if he goes to his cc issuer, then cc issuer decides

Re: is Paypal getting soft?

No, eBay or PP will never go softer. If anything they'll always become more difficult.

Re: is Paypal getting soft?

I'd rather not spend time disputing a PayPal claim on a stealth account especially if it is a small amount.
Thank goodness PayPal now allows the option to close cases yourself by issuing a refund unlike a few years back when every case must be attended to by a PayPal staff.
