Using Xoom to cashout?

I haven't seen many people talk about using Xoom to cashout. I recently got notifications on a few of my accounts to sign up for Xoom using my PayPal account so I did. I read that a few people back in november had to provide docs on there paypal after they signed up. Is this still the case? Maybe it's worth after you already have provided them with docs?

Its a PayPal service owned by PayPal. Sorta similar to Western Union or Moneygram in the way that it works but online and there is money pick up locations at banks and partnered venues after providing transaction info. Or sending money directly to bank accounts. Their website: Xoom.com

Just like BleepBloop said. It's a PayPal service. You can send money to anyone in the world, they don't need a paypal account. You can send to bank or cash pick up. I think I would use cash pick up. They give you a number and you give it to the pickup place + your ID (ID matching the name the money was sent to, not the PayPal account). Would be a really easy way yo cash out I feel like

I'm actually looking into this myself.
What's stopping me from using it is it's owned by PP.

If they aren't too strict and they manage it differently than PP.com maybe it's worth a try regardless.

Can you try sending like $5 to someone outside your country?

i have used xoom to cashout from paypal before. However they will confirm your paypal details before allowing you to cashout. I never tried it with big amounts though.

I am guessing you mean basic verification like proof of identity and address. All my accounts have already been verified using this when passing the EU limits so that's fine.

Yeah that's what I thought. I mean they advertise it as allowing you to send money to family and friends so surely at least a few stealth accounts could send to the same person. Though I guess it would be harder with higher value transfers and from more accounts. I can not try right now since I am on holiday but will try asap. I hope someone else can try it even before me so that you guys don't have to wait

I used xoom few times to cash out.

The problem is the verification. they will ask A LOT of question and will request supporting and verification documents. if you use the same currency to cash out the fee is higher like 1-2%. If you choose another currency the fee will be little but they scam you on exchange like 2%.

I used it twice to send around 2k EUR to china (to bank account) and one time to EU for 400 EUR.

It works but it is not easy with the documents and you will need to call them for verification

Can you please give more details?

What sort of questions do they ask? What documents do they ask for?

This, most of the time the transaction will get declined. The success rate would be less than 1/10 I'd say without the hassle of docs, calling.

Yes, I can confirm it's a pain in the ass. You can use your balance to send, however too many questions, you need to call them or they call you, sometimes they even call the receiver.... It's too early in my opinion to start using this pilot project of paypal.
