Default Adding bank account and asking for code from old number

So I have a business PayPal account with EIN that Iíve had for almost 5 years that has an old phone number and old bank account on it. So I went to update the phone number and verified the number. I made it my primary and added it to my business customer support number on business profile info. I still see the old number there and it wonít let me delete it or even give me an option too. And when I attempt to add the new bank account itís requesting a code from the old number. It isnít even the primary number!

I call PayPal and after plenty of bs they fed me they determined it was because the phone isnít a contract number. Thatís absolutely crazy as that would limit millions (estimate of ppl that use prepaid) of people from using their service. And the rep literately responded with ďrightĒ when I said that. He said it might work after 48 hours though. Waited 48 hours and didnít work.

I used a service provider on here for sms code and was able to add that number to the PayPal account. Although Iím still having the same issue when attempting to add new bank account and being requested for code from the old number.

Any suggestions on how to get this old number removed? Or get this bank account added by another way? Thanks

Have you tried asking a rep to remove the old phone number reason being it is long dead and you want to update a new number on the account?

Even if you do get this done, I doubt you will be able to add a new bank account to this PP, it will probably give you an error.

Yep Iíve been on the phone three times now and just keep getting run around. I donít know what to do

AMZN has revised its policy,if you want to add/replace an existing bank account for receiving sales proceeds with a new bank account,you must first enter the old bank account number,the screen shows a slot where you need to enter that old number
the reason why is an AMZN third party seller claimed some one hacked into his account and add a new bank account,there by stealing $80K from his business.
AMZN claimed no responsibility as it is his job to make sure no one hacks his account.and AMZN refused to give him the new bank account number.
But then AMZN comes up with this new policy,before you add a new bank account,you must show you know the old bank account already on file with AMZN.
So it sounds like Paypal would not want anyone to remove/replace. the old bank account until it is sure you are the rightful owner.
the fact that the account has been idle for months and you dont know your old number,it is being cautius.
does it make sense?

Yes that makes sense... but youíd think theyíd ask me my security questions or even ask for the account Photo ID for Christ sakes!

Old bank account is no longer accessible. Long story.

if you are truly running a business EIN,one would think you have paper trace showing the old bank account-bank statements,deposit slips,returned checks,papers you sign when you open this bank account,
A legit business does not throw important papers away

This is on PayPal. Itís not requesting my old bank account numbers. Only a code and itís sending it to my old phone number
