How to wipe my phone properly for new sim insertion and stealth account

Hi so I need to wipe this phone and put a new sim in so I can make a new stealth account. I’ve seen mixed feelings on this and I know there’s a wrong way to do this. Can anyone help and tell me how exactly to wipe the phone so I won’t be linked? Thank you

Well if it's an iPhone, you could reset it to factory settings and use a new sim card. But if you use the EB or PP apps, your device ID is still the same, and it's part of the TOS of the apps is that they will be able to see your device info, including the device ID (you agree to this when you use their apps) so photos taken with it (that dont have the meta data removed from them) or anything you do with apps is going to link you. I wouldn't do it.

Can you explain how apps like Paypal would be able to track you through some device ID even after a factory reset?

I checked Paypal's privacy policy and user agreement and don't see any mention of device ID tracking. I only see that they may track you through things like your IP address, GPS data, cookie data, etc.

Furthermore, I read online that Apple stopped access to the UDID back in 2011 and now apps need to use their own fingerprinting techniques to track users.

Since iOS 11, Apple even limited access to network data such as your wifi network name and mac address unless the app is given location permissions.

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't see how apps can access unique identifiers of a device anymore (unless the app is explicitly given location permission). It seems that Fingerprinting seems to be the only method that apps and website can use now to track and identify users and devices.

good post. People always state things without facts. Thank you for providing data as well to go along with your points.

ALternatively. You can just use the web browser as well.

My man! Good job shouting my man out. People always say stuff they heard. “Trying things and getting it right or wrong is the best education”

It wouldn’t pass me though if companies did it without disclosing it.
