. |
| GreenBean | 09-17-2009 08:17 AM | Welcome to the forum
Does the friend only own the paypal account or the ebay as well? |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 08:30 AM | hi its good to be here, it is his is ebay and his paypal account both registered to his name and his address (bank account is also), i want to continue using his ebay account but he doesnt want me to use his spare bank account any longer. The ebay acc has 1000's feedback over a years selling on it |
| GreenBean | 09-17-2009 08:56 AM | ebay/paypal are meant to have matching names. I would not recommend
doing that.
Not being nosey but have you fallen out with your friend? You could consider making a bank account together, put his name on the bank account first, then change the bank details.... don't exactly understand if its the paypal AND the bank account? |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 10:02 AM | over a period of a year he has been "dipping into" the cash in the accouint and taking amounts for himself, i have recently discovered this and confronted him about it and he's got the lip on |
| philly387 | 09-17-2009 10:37 AM | Well I would think you should let them take some here and there for letting you use your friends account. But your friend shouldn't be taking funds without you knowing either. |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 11:42 AM | so what do i do ? any suggestions, perfect ebay account with only 1 neg in a year and 1,000s of feedback |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 12:05 PM | You are defiantly caught between a rock and a hard place.
As GreenBean said, first of all ebay/paypal are meant to have matching names. As said, I definitely wouldn't recommend adding paypal account A to B.
I do know that you are allowed 2 Paypal accounts. One personal and one Business. Maybe this could give you a way to make it work.
If you opened a second account with the same details as the eBay account without your friend knowing, but use your own bank account info to verify it for withdraws, and add that account to the ebay account, wouldn't that work?
I'm not asking you "they_screwed_me_too" if it would work, I'm asking anyone else here in the forum what they think about that.
An account in that good standings with 1,000's feedback you defiantly want to be careful how you handle this because you obviously don't want any problems. |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 12:31 PM | i could but i thought the paypal name and account name had to be the same ? or is that not the case ? |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 12:57 PM | They do need to be the same for sure.
What I am suggesting is.
I want to make sure I have this straight.
You have an ebay and paypal "A"
You want to continue using your friends eBay account with the 1,000's feedback "B", You can continue to use the account but your friend doesn't want you to use his Paypal account on it anymore. Is that right?
You need a new paypal account to continue using eBay account "B"
Is that right? |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 01:03 PM | im confused by all the A's and B's but.................. i want to continue using my friends ebay account with the great feedback, but he no longer wants me to use his bank account, so yes i guess i would need a new paypal |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 01:05 PM | yes its exactly like you said :-) |
| oompaloompa | 09-17-2009 01:12 PM | easy to just swap bank account to your own, add it and then get penny deposits and you are away... |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 01:14 PM | oompaloompa.... im assured paypal name and account name had to be the same name/address |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 01:14 PM | I was just stating the A's and B's as you were referring to them in the original post.
Ok, what I was suggesting was, You have this account that you want to continue using but you need a new Paypal account on it and the names and addresses have to match.
I was saying, open a second Paypal account (which you are allowed to do) but open the account using the same information that is on the eBay account you are going to use but without your friend knowing, but obviously add your own bank account to it for verification/ withdraws so you receive the money.
When you add a bank account to a Paypal account to verify it, the name on the account doesn't have to match the name on the Paypal, (incase you didn't know) I'm thinking this is the part you didn't get.
But, there are bank accounts that are Blacklisted (specifically if you are using debit cards with routing numbers) that you shouldn't use if the names don't match.
Know what I mean? |

Yes, that would be the solution, but I believe that his friend doesn't want him to have access to the account at all, right, they got me too? Or is it just the bank account he doesn't want you to have access to?
If he is still giving you access to the Paypal account then oompaloompa is right.
All you have to do is change the account info. |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 01:17 PM | right, i was assure that the bank account name/address and paypal name/address had to be the same ? so its simple then ? or not lol. do paypal actually say that its ok then ? |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 01:20 PM | Yes. There you go. I was making it much harder for you than needed to be.
oompaloompa hit it on the nose. All you have to do is change the bank account. Verify a new account, but make sure you use a preferred bank of this forum to do it because a few can match the names. |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 01:24 PM | All you have to do is use any bank account or debit card routing number (other than Netspend metabank, and I wouldn't trust rushcard either) To add a new bank account to the paypal.
The names don't have to match. They only verify the account is yours by the 2 small deposits they make, they dont even see your name and address. It's all automated. |
| webguy | 09-17-2009 01:29 PM | I hope I didn't confuse you too much.
It's been a long week. I have had major issues with ebay and Paypal going on for some time now and just recently, with alot of luck, finally received Thousands I have been waiting for from Paypal for over 180 days.
Good luck they_screwed_me_too |
| getaroundebay | 09-17-2009 01:32 PM | Listen, Just go into PayPal, Profile, Add bank account.
Add your bank account sort code and account number.
The name wont be an issue as long as it isn't Lloyds TSB!
Don't go creating new PayPal accounts etc that will cause problems!
Its easy, you seem to be making it complicated! |
| they_screwed_me_too | 09-17-2009 01:35 PM | right ok now heres the tricky bit............. the only bank account i have is linked to the ebay account A (my account) i cant open another account due to some credit problems ive had previously and the credit system is so hard in the UK lately..any ideas ? | | All times are GMT -5.
