24h Payment Hold

Hi guys today I got some money on my account that were on hold for 21 days, but when I logged on the account to make some payments to 3 people they got an e mail from PayPal saying that the payment I sent will be blocked for 24h because they need to check if is the actual owner that made the payment. Is this normal routine check?

Was this the first time you sent money using this account? I often get it on accounts which have never sent money out before.

OP, you seem to have tripped up some security flags on your account - did you do anything out of the ordinary?

I had a buyer that this happened to, and I received an email from PayPal saying to wait 24hrs before shipment. Is this normal for a seller account, or is it to do with buyer activity?

Re: 24h Payment Hold

It has happened several times to me and all payments were released after 24hrs but the reason should be some security concerns like IP , login from new device ...

This happens to me alot,at least the last 3 months..every single payment i send its on hold for 24 hours...they release it exaclty after 24 hours ..and this happens for like 2-3 months now..its really annoying

EDIT: Its happening after i had the established seller email from paypal ,1 month after i register my account (Congratulation and Welcome mail)

This is a new account and is the first time that I sent money, and I think it was because I logged in with a fresh IP but close to the IP City I usually use

Fingers crossed if its the latter.

The account was created in 2019, I started using it in March 2020, now April 2020 I sent money to 3 people and I subscribed to a monthly service. I don't think is that strange how I use it, this are normal payments that everyone make

This almost always happen when your paypal account is new.

No it doesn't. Thinking it does will only lead to complacency and possible suspension.

Any 'hold' should be treated as a warning that they're watching you because something has attracted their attention, so find a way to get them to look at someone else.

What if this happens for like 3 months like in my case? my account is verified (id/adress), i start to worry about it :/

I create new paypal accounts every week.
So I talk about what I see very often.

Yes, it should stop after one month of the account being created and having some transactions.

Prepare a new account and withdraw your funds slowly.

Re: 24h Payment Hold

Guys they unlocked the payments after the 24h is all good, but I tried to log in with another IP on the stealth account and it give me an error "we don't know if it's you" and the only option to verify it is to call them [emoji58], if I don't want to call?
