How do I add funds to Paypal to pay for refund?
 

Hi
It seems my wife transferred out the money from Paypal to bank account.
And I have someone that purchase an Ipad I need to refund. Purchased at 349, total at 369.19

Now my paypal is showing 365$ available. For the refund, can I add visa gift cards to add some money to my Paypal? the refund money doesn't need to come from my bank account does it?

No, the refund does not need to come from your bank. As long as the visa card add money to your balance. You can also try to receive the balance from another paypal.

If this is a US account, you can't have a balance so a card won't work.

If it's a US account your options are to sell some items to build up to where you need to be, or let part of the refund be pulled from your bank account.

It is a US account.
What do you mean I can't have a balance?
Is it not possible to add founds from gift cards?

No. You would have to upgrade to a "cash" account to have a balance. The pseudo-balance that shows in your PP account now can only be withdrawn to your bank account.

I've noticed that refunds do come from the balance that shows in your PP account but that seems to be the only thing they'll allow that balance to be spent on. You can't add to your balance with a card because that's not a spendable balance.

In my opinion what I do is. I have a stealth buyer account Put up an auction on your main account for however much you need. Buy that item then pay for it with a vanilla Visa gift card or whatever. And you have the money. Each of my pay pal accounts I leave a reserve of $300 for refunds. Now just giving you the heads up sometimes when this happens when you buy stuff from yourself the money is locked for a few days and to deliver the package just leave yourself positive feedback as the buyer sometimes This will unlock it.
