How Long does it take for Paypal to recognize new primary phone number?
 

For those who have changed primary phone numbers on PayPal, how long did it take for the system to recognize new number for security checks?

Mostly 48 hours or max 72 hours

I recently changed my primary phone on paypal in order to add a new bank .
First , I added new phone # on paypal. after 5 days, I switched the new phone to my primary phone, and then took about 10 days, I tried to add my new bank on paypal.

guess what ? paypal didn't recognize my new phone as primary one. they still wanted my old phone # for security checks.

1 day, sometimes 2 days if everything goes right.

Have you removed the other phone number? MAYBE it could hasten the process.

Paypal support will say, 7 days. But I saw cases where it took 1 month or even more to recognize. You just need to keep trying every few days.

Yes this could always happen, until the security system accepts fully the new number. It does not matter if you just update or add new number. The system could still ask for the old number even if it's removed.
