IT PayPal is requiring me to add Italy bank to lift 2.5K limit
 

Hello everyone!

I reached the 2.5K limit in an Italian PayPal. I send them the documents. Paypal emailed me back saying they accepted them. But they won't lift the limit unless I add and confirm an italian bank account.

I have a bank from Netherland attached and verified as well as a card from the same bank.

To the best of my knowledge, I can add ANY bank from the EU.

Is this a new thing? Or am I just dealing with another employee who have no clue what he is talking about?

here is nothing stopping any EU citizen linking any acceptable EU bank to their paypal account, I've got many paypal accounts linked to foreign banks.

you can go to Paypal forum and see if a Paypal rep can give you more information.
They do have several reps there,but they are mostly US reps AND some volunteers,they are pretty good,but most do not know much about NON USA issues

go to VISA Europe website and look up member banks and see if any of your banks is on the list,if so,ask for a VISA debit card and see if you can use it to withdraw Paypal fund

this is bull****. the agent has clearly no Idea. I have been told many times that it is possible to add only a bank account fromt he same country. e.g Ireland paypal can only take IE bank.

to lift EU limit ANY bank account is fine. even an US one (for an EU paypal) or ANY confirmed debit/creditcard.

if you are an US expatriate living overseas,you can add a US bank account to a foreign Paypal account,PAypal is US company,not a problem.
Just remember to remove that bank from your US paypal account first
But if you are not an US expat but have an active US bank account,thats fine too.
But OP is now having a problem,Paypal wants a LOCAL BANK ie Italian bank.
May be rule has changed or the rep does not know what he is talking about,we will find out if OP is willing to come back and update this post
