Paypal and SSN
 

So I started using my sisters paypal account today. Since I knew eventually I would have to put in ssn, i figured why not get it done early. I believed our ssn were consecutive or near consecutive, since we got them at the same time. I started throwing in all the numbers nearby mine, which did not work. Finally, I thought what the heck, and threw mine in, and it worked. What is this all about? Can anyone explain?

Don't know why. You may need to find the card or check with SSA.

Thats strange- the SSN thing will only work like that if yours and your sister's names are only different by a few letters (<3)...and that's what PP told me

When did Paypal start asking for SSN's ??

Paypal asking for SSN's if you have business or merchant account? I am a low volume seller,

:faint: when an account gets a limitation, the SSN can be required as ID to resolve the limitations. Any paypal account may be asked for it. Don't state what you sell, keep that private.:ranger:
