Paypal Limited When Customer Tries To Buy On Ebay
 

Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with paypal.

This has happened to multiple paypal accounts so far, 5+ years old.

I am selling electronics on ebay on fresh created accounts in the price range of $700-$900.

The problem is that whenever a customer decides to buy my item, my paypal account gets limited and the payment is blocked, rejecting all future payment tries on ebay, so i end up with a limited paypal and no sales.

At this point the paypal account is limited while i have no problems on ebay.

The limitation asks for ID and supplier invoice.

Now my question is :
Is this as a result of a high priced first item being sold on ebay, or do they block it just because it falls in a risky category.

I have tested to receive payments on the same accounts before manually (not on ebay) for the same products i sell and same prices. Payments go through and the account never gets limited.

It has something to do with Paypal+Ebay combo, i was hoping if any of you could fill me in with what im missing here, before burning more accounts until i find my answer.

Maybe only theory but eBay limit of fresh accounts is 500 USD
If your sales are more they check your id.

Way too high action on a new account - electronics is a risky category too

This seems to have just happened in the last week. It may be that Paypal has upgraded its risk control level.

a small update to where i am standing right now.

So just to confirm it again, i am not having issues with ebay, my ebay accounts do not get suspended, i am just having trouble collecting the payment for the items i am selling (when a buyer tries to purchase my item, his payment gets rejected and my paypal account gets limited, it does not affect the ebay account in any way).

As to new cases, i have tried to sell electronics once again but for 50% less the price or to be precise $415 and it's still the same scenario.

If someone had similar experience and knows the "safe threshold" for this please feel free to share the info.

It is bucose the ebay account is new that is the only one problem if you link your paypal to difrent platform paypal will not ask you anything before you reach 2000 euro or $ that is it.

Must be some automatic system when you sell stuff through ebay then paypal account gets limited after receiving first payment. I received about 100 euros and got limited also. Only way paypal account was not limited if I sent buyer a paypal invoice and they paid 64 euros and rest of money with bank transfer.

Paypal is so strict these days, even outside ebay new sellers get 21 day holds when buyer sends you even 60 or 70 euros with paypal

the 21 day hold has been like that for a very long time, so that's normal actually.
