Confirmation of Payee UK BANK ACCOUNTS
 

Hi Guys

For UK paypal accounts, there was a new security check that was introduced by the Banks called Confirmation of Payee.

I am wondering if anyone has added a mismatching Bank to a NEW PAYPAL recently? can you still add mismatching Bank to UK Paypals?

Yes , you can but not all banks.

Also there is a small trick that works on some banks - instead of linking it through the website , call paypal and link it on the phone. - doesnt work with every company tho.

Did you manage to attatch mismatching Bank to a NEW PAYPAL and had no problems? please tell us more as I was trying to add a new bank acc to my new id verified stealth paypal with some transactions but see they now say they will send 2 small deposit amounts and retrieve them in 1 withdrawal?

Exactly what I want to know, the crucial term here is "adding to a NEW paypal account", You think they will be able to see that the name dont match when they send those 2 deposits? so we need to have some more feedbacks.

They will be able to see the name when they withdraw the deposits back from the bank they originally deposited them to.

They withdraw the funds for that reason

This situation is unclear, I wish there were more people to comment on the matter, since this new law was introduced.

Any more updates on this ? As it is really important. Will it only effect new accounts ? As payments made to people supposedly need to match, so will making a withdrawal from existing accounts matter ?

On UK PP not sure why people are adding Bank Accounts, just add and verify your card, and withdraw to the card. I have quite a few fully fledged PP with no BA added

Can you withdraw to a card now ? I don't think you used to be able to ? So that doesn't need to be in correct name ? What are risks with paying to a card ? I have seen it listed in my withdrawal page on PayPal for a while now but never risked using it, always went to my bank instead.

I only recently started ebay sales again this year after a LONG time, but works fine. Have taken thousands into Revol*t with no issue on mismatch name.

Where and when are they withdrawing it? I have never seen that on my accounts.
