Large negative balance -$2,238....what happens next?
(1) Can eBay/PayPal find me and sue me?
Never sent them an ID or SSN. Have a common name. Address they have is a dorm room address that doesn't even exist anymore (school tore down the old dorms and put in a basketball practice facility). Not trying to get sued, but this would at least let me talk to them and explain what happened.
(2) Can eBay/PayPal take the money out of my card?
Card has long expired. Card numbers are no longer even valid. Thought I lost my wallet a year ago (later found it in my car between the seat and center console) but capital one has already cancelled the old accounts and sent me a new card number at the time. Can they still ding capital one and it some how bill the new card?
(3) Can eBay/PayPal take the money out of my bank?
Bank on paypal is a savings account and it's still valid. Doesn't have any money in it, moved my money to online savings accounts that earn better interest. Been meaning to close out this savings account linked on paypal but I guess now's a good time.
But I also have a checking account at this bank that's tied to quite a bit of things like my work's payment, so it'd be a pain to change. There is a reddit post of a guy that signed up for "eBay Managed payments", they require your SSN and bank account and you agree to let eBay dip into your bank account to cover refunds. The guy didn't agree to a refund and knew eBay would dip into his checking account he gave them, so he closed his checking account, only to find out some how eBay dipped into his savings account (which he never gave ebay) but it's with the same bank.
