Applying For EIN and Credit Monitoring
 

Long story short...we have a credit monitoring setup on our SSN. My husband hates that I am stealth and wants nothing to do with it. I think i used my SSN on an old PayPal account years ago, so not sure I want to risk adding it to my new PayPal account. I want to apply for an EIN but not sure if it will alert our SSN/Credit Monitoring. I know that IRS doesn't run a credit check, but not sure if it will alert the part of our coverage that is supposed to alert for usage of SSN. Anyone have any information on this?

No applying for an EIN won't trigger anything with any of the credit bureaus. The IRS just asks for your SSN so they know whom is legally responsible for the companies taxes.

Even if it somehow sent you a credit monitoring alert, who cares?

It would not effect your credit score at all in anyway.
