PAYPAL Confirm your account information I have set up a new Paypal account. When I go to "Confirm your Account information" i get an error message.
I have been trying for days. All I want is for them to confirm the info or send the letter out. I can seem to get past this stage.
Is anyone else experiencing this? |
| GreenBean | 10-06-2009 05:09 AM | Having similar problem with paypal UK. Been like that since Thursday night
(UK time) :tears: |
Hi Green, thanks for your quick reply. So this is probably due to something with Paypal? I was thinking that they have upgraded thier systems and that any slight error will lead to this. |
| GreenBean | 10-06-2009 05:19 AM | Tis the 3rd time this year the error message has happened. Tends to fix itself just as I am about to scream :ranger: |
So once this is fixed I will be able to get the letter sent out? Thats what i need |
| GreenBean | 10-06-2009 05:25 AM | Should not be a problem. Did you miss the phone call? Just remember the letter might take a while because of the mail problems:pout: |
No phone call. Nothing past the confirm information option. Keeps bringing up an error message. I am hoping to get the letter sent out, thats the way it usually works. I thought it might be that pp are now blocking registrations. |
| shoot2kill | 10-06-2009 11:22 AM | Its the time of the year where companys update their servers(Holiday traffic). Just give it some time it will pass or you can call PayPal and ask them what up with their network! |
| GreenBean | 10-07-2009 03:28 AM | Yep, I agree with that,shoot. :ranger: |
Is this issue sorted yet? does anyone know? |
Hi GreenBean. I seem to be getting this issue confused with the other issue with regard to the limits not being removed.
To confirm this is the fact that when you "click on confirm your information" it either will not accept the information and says the information is incorrect, or that their is a technical issue.
In the past if you click on confirm your information and it is unable to validate then it informs you it will send out a letter. However I cant even get to this. Just stuck and then contact information wont complete.
Is this the same issue you are having? and is this a PP glitch or could verification be more complex now.
Sorry for asking again, its just that if this is here to stay it is going to be a big problem. |
Also this is really weird. I keep trying to do it and it tells me about a technical fault then
it does it
Confirm your information (has a line through the centre) then goes back, meaning you need to action it. |
| BooMer | 10-08-2009 11:54 AM | It's probably a glitch in Paypal systems since they were updating these past few months. In the U.S.A I had problems creating Shipping labels where I will get an error message that says "unable to print shipping labels at this time, please try again later" and right after that I tried again and it went through. Sometimes it took multiples attempts before I was able to print labels. Every Now and Then I will get messages displayed on the top of my paypal page highlighted in yellow that says "Please excuse our appearance we are currently doing site maintenance"
Mark678 Maybe you can try to confirm multiple times and eventually it will go through.
Hope this helps.

Yes I will keep trying to push it through. I dont understand it, never has this before, always got the phone call and the letter. If this is a change then this is a problem. |
Still not working. It is either a fault thier end or something else. However the behavious is erratic. I have got to the stage where i get the call and then it tells me a letter will be sent.
Then it goes back to confirm your information and the enter your code box goes.
Anyone have any ideas on this? I dont know what I am going to do if i cant get past this stage. |
If you are confident with your confirmation info, why don't you give PayPal a call and ask what the problem is? |
Calling Paypal has got to be a last resort. Always the risk of linking other accounts. |
I rang Paypal, they tell me that I need to get my Credit Card expuse number.
I have never had to do this before "confirming contacting information"
Is this new that you have to add Credit Card expuse number before confirming location? |
Tip: I was nervous about calling PP, they are not that switched on. As Long as you have details of account you will be ok.
Still have not sorted my problem. Will try once CC expuse number is entered. |

I've been having the exact same problem for as few days now!
Everything else has been confirmed, I've done the telephone confirmation I've added a bank account and confirmed the 2 small deposits, I've added a credit card and entered the expuse number.
And still I get the error 'incorrect information'.
I've not had anything about a letter though??? As my address is not my real address I will never receive a letter I guess, however PayPal have not advised me that a letter will be sent as some other peoples cases.
This is really frustrating as I thought I was back up and running :noidea:
I'm just one step away from beating my suspension, but now don't know what to do!!!!
Any ideas??????? |
| pookie100 | 10-14-2009 01:18 PM | the expuse number is the four digits in front of the word paypal when u verify your cc, they ,paypal ,deposit 1.95 to verify |
You have got everything right, Bank added, and deposits, and credit card with expuse.
When you go to "confirm your information" do you get a technical error message or a message saying that you information is incorrect?
Tip: Try doing the confirm your information up to 20 times, just keep doing it. Let me know if you either get the phone call or the letter sent. |
Lets keep trying to see what we can do. Either keep clicking the confirm your information to try to get the phone call or the letter.
This could be the end of the road for stealth PP accounts |

| GreenBean | 10-15-2009 03:26 AM | ^^^Took me 9 attempts. Will be waiting for your feedback :ranger: |
| idiotbay | 10-17-2009 04:51 PM | tired 20 times with the account that is 3 weeks old, took only 2 times to get phone verification with a new account |
| bluef0x | 10-20-2009 04:32 AM | Still trying!!!!
Tried about 15 times the other night until I got bored.
Still won't confirm.
May try to call or e-mail them |
| idiotbay | 10-20-2009 07:13 AM | what if we closed that paypal account, then re owned using the same information . would that be ok ? |
| bluef0x | 10-21-2009 02:27 AM | ^^^^^^^^I'm not sure this can be done as I have already used the telephone number to confirm this PayPal account and am pretty sure that it can not be used again.
Is this right? |
| latting | 10-22-2009 07:56 AM | I tried about 3,4 times, then got "confirm by phone/post" below the "confirm your infomation" which was crossed out. However, I did not continue to finish, thinking "confirm by phone/post" will just be there.
Today, I wanted to finish that, but the "confirm by phone/post" gone, I then "confirm your infomation" (available now) about 5,6 times. My PP was limited!! asking me to finish below:
1. confirm your bank (two lots small money)
2. confirm CC (link CC to PP)
3. validate your account infomation (got through by phone varification)
Ask a question BTW about num 2.
If I click "confirm CC", I will see my real debit card number and steath address (both entered when opening the PP).
Do they use AVS at this step? Will debit card ok and get the expuse num? |

Provided the debit card is linked to an address it will work. |

| jamesmzuk | 10-23-2009 12:28 PM | I got the same problem, I have been trying for last 10 days,
I still canot fix it out. |
I have tried this and if you keep trying it will work at some point. I tried 40 times with one account, now all fixed and verified. |
| cortex | 03-05-2010 05:33 AM | how long does it take to receive the expuse number? |
Expuse takes approx 3-4 working days.
Tip: dont ring up your credit card company, check online. You just have to register.
There is an issue with credit card companies whining to Paypal about people calling to check expuse.
Also the reps do not understand what you want. You have to explain to them that you need the 4 digit number after the word Paypal.
Some are not the brightest sparks. My advise check online after 5 working days have passed. |
| cortex | 03-06-2010 03:36 PM | Received it on the 3rd morning :)
Shame my ebay ID received an MC199 on the same day though...boo hoo...guess its time for a backup stealth to to be resurrected | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:54 PM. | |
