paypal question =)
 

hey guys... so i am in the process of getting ready to make a new account and ditching the one i have... and i have a seller fee balance on there that i dont feel like paying

the problem is that i made the mistake of saying automatic payments out of my paypal, and my paypal is linked with a bank account i actually use.

so my question is... couldnt i just change the email on my paypal account so then when ebay tries to deduct the funds they have pretty much no way of getting into the account?

has this ever happened to anyone before? thanks!

Changing email wont do. PayPal keeps all your info and when Ebay asks, they will know what account it is. You can close your checking account and open new one...otherwise, PayPal will take your Ebay fees out of your checking.

Just go to monthly preapproved payments in your Paypal account (click "Profile") and you should see it as one of the links.

You will see the eBay monthly approved payments, and you can cancel that agreement, which will stop eBay from pulling money from your account.

The first time I did this, I was a bit suspicious because eBay is sneaky and I thought they might try to pull funds from my Paypal anyway, but when the month was over, they didn't, so it's safe.

^^^Keep in mind for next time NEVER to link paying fees thro' paypal.
Even if this account goes well, you might think of making another one so it's handy to know about not linking for ebay fees :ranger:

The change you made will only apply to fees that were acquired after the change was made. Any fees that accumulated before you actually switched the info will still be processed using the setting you had AT THE TIME the fees accrued.

To be safest, close the bank account entirely, before the due date of the fees. That way, it will fall flat.
