On Hold - Ship now

Okay, PayPal has started putting holds on my payments all over again out of no where!

$1800 in holds in the past two days.

*ROLLS EYES*

Anyone else experiencing this? I'm trying to figure out if it's cyclical or what cos it's not like this is a new account anymore.

Anyway, I hope business is good for everyone! Sales are still strong in Home & Garden. ;)

Cheers.

Just shows again how unpredictable PayPal is...So, just when you think you are doing well, they'll hit you again.:ballchain:

inverser, this is hard to tell without knowing the stats on your account.
Age? Feedback score? DSR Rating? Feedback %?

The eBay account was created in 2001.

Feedback is 48 at 100% positive.

As for DSRs:

Item as described : 4.8
Communication: 4.9
Shipping time: 4.5
Shipping and handling charges: 4.8

What's strange is that PayPal had stopped holding payments and now they started it up again, seemingly for no reason. This really blows because once PayPal had stopped the holds I was selling at full force and now I'm gonna have to scale back. Ugh.

^^^Have you thought that paypal is doing that instead of holding 5% of your money? The account might be in 'netherland': paypal has not yet decided what status your account is to get/be.:ranger:

Hi GreenBean! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've considered that as well. But considering all of the hoops they made me jump through restoring the account it doesn't jive. I guess I was hoping that all the BS was behind me regarding the account.

FWIW, it's pretty clear that they're still taking the 5% from every payment I receive.

And the last 3 payments (total $1800) I received were all immediately put on hold.

:(

Subtle difference: is the 5% being held for 60 days? Or is the total amount 5% give or take ?

They are taking 5% out of every payment I receive, on top of the PayPal fees. This is supposed to continue for 90 days.

Haha yeah the holds are what's killing me at this point. The 5% reserve was manageable, but the holds starting up again is just killer.

So no one else has ever had the holds start up all over again? That makes me worry! :(

I've sent out thank you letters with tracking in hopes to have the funds released ASAP.

i've had this happen to me to. I cannot remember exactly how or why the buyer holds the money. But after it's been delivered if the person gives you a positive feedback, the money will be released. otherwise it's a 14 or 15 day (cannot remember exactly which 14 or 15) day waiting period, then it's released. When this happened to me, on the 14th or 15th day the money came into my account.

I called paypal when I noticed it was on hold for about a week. They told me if I get a positive feedback the money will be released. I contacted the buyer but they never gave me any feedback. So I had to wait the 14/15 days.

Hope it helps

aking 10-18-2009 04:36 PM

i called paypal once and the lady released all my payments right on the phone after she saw everything was delivered.

GreenBean 10-18-2009 06:02 PM

^^^it occurred to me that AGAIN paypal is lying.
When this holding of a % of funds was introduced, they inferred any affected accounts would have no holds..... appears unture

then it was also suggested that any holds would be reduced to a shorter period...... appears unture
Keep the reports coming so we can 'follow' what paypal are trying:ranger:

This has been happening to me. I have the "right" kind of PP accounts. I have had no problems receiving & withdrawing funds from $1k-$3k, until recent. There is a hold & a few hoops to jump regarding receipt of item to buyer. I fax whatever info in, wait until I get the doc's received email, then I know I can call them & they release the limitation hold. I then wait another 24hrs before I withdraw & it is fine. I currently have 8 "right" PP accounts this has happened to.
No Worries my friend.:thumb:
