180 day Restricted PayPal - almost £5000 in there
 

Hi I was using a new eBay and PayPal. Everything was going great. Probably a little too great. I sold over £4,800 worth of items in the first 3 weeks.

PayPal temporary restricted my account asking for documents, receipts etc. I sent them everything they required and roughly 10 days later my PayPal account was permanently suspended. They are now holding my funds (£4,800) for 180 days.

My Question is,[I] will I get this money back after the 180 days?[/I]
So far roughly 45 days have passed and there has been zero charge backs. Nobody has disputed anything. It's obviously a big deal for me and it's going to be a VERY anxious 6 months. It's all stealth... The PayPal is not in my name

There are a lof of stories on this forum with successful withdraw, but in some cases you have to call them, I wish you good luck my friend. But when your account was limited and you sent the documents it was restored and then after 10 days suspended or suspended with out restoring?

Loads of people have got their money out after 180 days. Dont worry about it.

No the account did not get successfully restored. It went straight into permanently limited once they reviewed my documents. But thanks for the replies :)

Hey, can you find the email on limitation you received from PayPal? What was the reason? :)

Yes it will be useful for the community. I got my stealth acc limiteed too few days ago and they want invoice and fullfil some transactions. So I uploaded invoice today and waiting.

i HOPE your Paypal account has a bank account linked already so after 180 days you can transfer to the bank account

Was this a stealth account? You have more protection in the UK as PayPal is registered as a Bank and as such are more accountable with your funds, it is their American cousins who would rob you in a heartbeat if they can with nobody to answer to except their forced arbitration.

I had my account restricted and then closed with 485 dollars in it. Said wait 180 days. I marked it on my calendar thinking well that can be Christmas money. and after awhile I got distracted. Then it popped up on my calendar 11/21 so I went in only to find that in September with no notice they withdrew the entire balance under some liability clause where they can take up to 2500 if they THINK you may put them liable for something. I only sold 4 things on eBay (restricted items it turned out) and all were shipped through PayPal with tracking and no complaints.

What really irritated me was the lack of notice, I mean if that was the intent why not just take it up front.

You'll get the money back after 6 months, it happened to me, just provide a bank after 6 months for them to release it to, and you should be good.

You should get your money back if you did not violate their AUP.
As you have recently submitted ID, they shouldn't ask for one at the expiry of 180 days.
